China Bar Doncaster Road

Eaten at food court China Bar's many times and generally food is pretty good and consistent.
This is a stand alone China Bar restaurant with a full bar, so you can have a beer, wine etc with your meals. The place is a renovated Pizza Hut building and is bright and cheerful inside.
Huge car park around the back shared with the adjacent Pancake parlour. There is disabled parking and a long ramp up to the doorway. Our group was there for a mid week lunch and it was fairly quiet.
Staff were very friendly and greeted us with smiles.
A reasonable range of dishes in the photo style menu which accurately represented the dishes we ordered. Food was delivered around 10 minutes after we ordered it, and as requested, some of the dishes were delivered one after the other, with the fresh items appearing shortly after the previous dish was finished.
Meals we've eaten and can recommend: Combination fried crispy noodle (huge serve, delicious), fried rice, Honey Chicken with fried rice, Wonton Soup, Chicken Curry Laksa (very generous serve, with a nice creamy broth, heaps of noodles, tofu, and chicken), Sweet and Sour Pork, 3 meat noodles, crispy Pork Belly. We've also had the chicken feet, Roast Duck with rice, Beef Wonton soup, and a BBQ pork rice dish.
Most serves are REALLY massive, much larger than what I would call an average size.
It's not silver service fine dining, but it is excellent value, quick and tasty with a pleasant room with a family friendly ambience.
Everything was tasty, delicious and fresh.
There are quite a few daily specials from the regular menu for quite a bit cheaper.
We paid an average of $16.90 a dish, and if you pay cash, order 3 dishes then one will be free.
These specials are cash only sales though.

Food is great, service is what you expect it to be, atmosphere is like any other China bar. Sit down, order at the counter and don't forget your table number. Generous servings.

Great food, very tasty, reasonable prices. Service is low, order at the counter and get your own everything (cutlery, sauces, etc). Noodles soups are great.

Nice meal and prompt service. The noodles were delicious with a hint of chilli. Really loved the Matcha drink too. A huge range of dishes and drinks to choose from.

Amazing atmosphere, the customer service was immaculate. We came as a group of four, when we ordered the mains they served it all to us all equally instead of just picking at the dish. Our favourite was definitely the fried black pepper beef udon Definitely would recommend going back and trying out more of there dishes 🙌🏼 The drinks were also amazing, a restaurant always worth visiting.

Great value, fast and consistent quality.

Nothing to really complain about, although it was for merely takeaway but the service was fine.

I suspect some of the issue might came from language barrier and cultural differences?

Enjoyed eating out at this restaurant. The Duck was absolutely beautiful. Would recommend.

24 hours operation - food whipped out in a jiffy and priced very well - the dishes taste authentic and never disappoint - I find the laksa close to the original taste and the curry chicken/beef hits the right spot - if they get this right the rest will be on spot too - ample parking anytime

Very surprised. Had the second best laksa in Melbourne at the China Bar in Doncaster Road. It was quick and delicious - just needed a boiled egg and it would have been fantastic. Friendly service - my friend had a mobility walker and they were very accommodating when she needed anything from the service area. Lots of parking out the back for customers. Will definitely go back to try some of the other dishes.

The Hainanese Crispy Chicken Rice was excellent. The chicken was really nicely cooked with crispy bits all around the pieces, not just on the skin. Make sure you get the ginger and chilli sauces included if you get take-away.

Nice and cool resto along Doncaster Rd. It's quite different ambiance than the branches at the mall, more personalised. The lady that served our dinner was able to add up our dine in experience, she's entertaining and hilarious...Great job ma'am.

Fantastic service. Manager was very kind to my elderly Dad, making sure he was happy and had plenty of room around him. Food was fast and great value. Recommend the BBQ duck

Love the food at China Bar. Didn't know they open till 1.30am!

I went there on 10/06/2021 around 12.15pm. The guy who was in the cashier was the best and friendliest employee of All China Bars that I've been to. Keep up the good service.

Whenever we eat Chinese, we usually regret it and are sorely disappointed.
This time round it was amazing! The spring onion, ginger and orawn dumpling are so delicious! The crispy egg noodle and stir fried flat noodle wiyh beef in oyster sauce was great!
Thank you so much for the delicious food! You have restored our faith in Chinese food =)
