It would have been a great walk if it was not too windy. otherwise, beautiful place. Friendly on the knees. There is an option for a bus ride. We opted to walk and enjoy the scenery at our own pace. Bring some snacks, water and sunblock!!!

We stopped at Eagles Nest as part of our National Park walking visit. Access via the sandy walking trail, alternatively, there is a shuttle bus that leaves from the quaratine station carpark. Great views from the small lookout located near the gun placement.

A relatively exposed gun battery with some superb views overlooking the bay entrance. This nest once housed Australia's large hydro-pneumatic gun in Australia and apparently had a firing range of nearly 10km. This gun emplacement was abandoned in 1911, but the concrete structure still remains.

One of the most spectacular views, iv seen in Victoria Point Nepian National Park, Portsea.

One of the many things to see in Point Nepean National Park. A very interesting peice of history from the world wars. You can stand where the gun used to be and hear your voice echo when you speak!
There are beautiful views from here and you can take the longer, scenic route back to the car from the path that leads out from here.

Best place here so far on the hill with views in every direction ‘also the old gun station you can nearly hear the voices of the doomed in the wind’ the skies are blue you can only imagine what happened here years ago

Beautiful and historical. So grateful how wonderfully preserved it is, was nearly demolished to make way for residential sale...

Lovely little lookout, great photo opportunity when the water is calm, it really sparkles. It’s at Point Nepean National Park Portsea. You can ride throughout the park or get a bus.

A must see for people visiting the area. Also do the drive between Cape Patterson and Inverloch, there is quite a few lookouts and secluded beaches
