Lovely place! The owner really knows his business and is a great in what he does. Try the cold drip and the soft ice.

Great range of coffee, visited on a Saturday morning so parking was not a challenge, but I image on a business week day, parking would be a challenge. Friendly staff with terrific suggestions of coffee to try. Equipment available for purchase as well as a good selection of beans. The coffee ice cream is terrific. Will be back, highly recommended.

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great range of beans to suit any preferences. The takeaway coffee I got was brilliant and the beans were great at home. Will be a frequent spot

My second stop in Brisbane was at Passport Specialty Coffee.

Passport was established in 2018 by Aaron McKenzie and Jason Joffe as a place to make high scoring, sustainable coffees accessible to everyone, not just coffee people. I was lucky enough to meet them both in their espresso bar & roastery.

The menu was clearly too looooooong for me and followed my usual procedure when I do not want to read an extended menu: go for the recommendation of the boss (it turned out to be the best idea) and this is what happened.

We were first served two vintage coffees from Ethiopia 🇪🇹 as Hario V60 pour overs. They were both harvested years ago, underwent an experimental post-harvesting processing method, got freshly roasted after their arrival in Brisbane, rest for the desired time and were then put to sleep in a deep freezer to stop the chemical and physical aging processes. They were both very intense in flavors, came with a bold body, a silky and coated texture and had a long-lasting sweetness.

Next was another experimental lot from Rwanda 🇷🇼 or Burundi 🇧🇮(help please!): the espresso also had intense flavors, and a powerful body. We were told that the coffee tastes amazing as a black option, but did not at all fit a milk beverage. Maybe, this coffee would work with a freeze distilled milk, which 50% of the WBC competitors used during their championship in Milan last year.

Then came an espresso from Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬 – Baroida. I already enjoyed this coffee at Patricia’s in Melbourne and enjoyed it once more (we will become good friends I guess 😀). Then we moved to the milk beverage and tried a flat white with both house blends: Arrival and Departure. Of course, they cut well through the super sweet milk: Aussie style 🇦🇺❤.

To make sure we leave well caffeinated, I enjoyed the cold brew soft serve, after having having visited the roastery behind the espresso bar. I would call that a very typical specialty coffee tasting flight!

Thank you so much for the outstanding hospitality, the time you took to serve us and talk us through and of course the chat about driving in a BMW 1 series over Stelvio pass in Europe.

Ordered a mocha, oat latte and normal full cream latte. All of them were amazing - considering the diff milk combos. Spacious venue! It was so amazing that we bought the beans ! Light toasty nutty flavor! Will def go back again and try their soft serve!

Very good taste of coffee. One cup of batch filters coffee and one cup of flat white today. The coffee here is fantastic and my wife said that it is the first time she could feel the flavours of coffee such as chocolate or blueberry. We also bought some coffee beans for home espresso and we'd like to try the cold brew next time. The people here are very friendly and professional. 5 stars.

Their filter coffee is simply AMAZING 👏🏼 😍. We had two different filters and a delicious milky treat! Simply yummy!

We also had a batch brew 😛 great coffee.

It's the cafe I'd recommend the most in Brisbane by far.

Great staff and amazing coffee. They put up with me and my weird boyfriend so they have the patience of saints 😅.
Try the coffee icecream- worth it. I'm lucky if I get a little taste. It's worth fighting over.

What a BEAUTY of a coffee!
It’s hard to find a true good coffee and this is definitely THE place.
Since I’ve found this I can’t drive pass and not stop by.
Plus, they have a lovely and friendly staff ( and fast !).

Discovered this by accident last Christmas when I was searching for coffee shop that was still opened. I’m buying coffee and beans from them ever since.

Hands down the best coffee in Brisbane. Staffs are very knowledgeable about the beans and passionate about coffee in general. Keep up the good work 👍🏻

Went the other day, such a chill atmosphere, I almost forgot I was in Northgate and was transported to some cool coffee place in a trendy upbeat area. Coffee was so nice and bought a few cans of their cold brew coffee, is so good and I’m sort of buzzing right now from it, check this place out and try the canned cold brew and get buzzed up; also it tastes so good and only 3 grams of carbs

I was there with my wife last week by 30 mins driving to taste specialty coffee.
It was a great joy not lony tasting excellent coffee but also experiencing professional service on coffee of a barista there.
My wife and I are looking for good coffees all around Brisbane and it was a one of the most distinctive experience.

1. Coffee was excellent : a Barista was professional enough, if you want to experience it then ask him about coffee itself
2. Details were good : especially, it was a good to see a ice ball in the cup of ice long-black since it last enough not melting down until I drunk it all. Never seen like this detail
3. Staffers were good enough : if you like coffee then you may have a good time there for sure

Only one thing to mind is that I am not quite sure that the Passport may serve only cold-brew coffees and drip-coffees
But it was a good to taste the cold-brew one even though I don't like it in general.

Hands down Brisbane's best roaster. Loving black filter coffee, have been going back and forth between roasters but never found a favourite, until I casually walked in for a morning coffee. Have been buying a large bag of beans every couple weeks since then for the last 2 year and never it dissapoints.

These guys are the best roasters in Brisbane! No competition. I didn’t know how much others are over-roasting their beans till I tried this coffee. Highly recommend the Departure blend if you want to experience how well roasted coffee beans should taste. Their single origins are outstanding too and have a solid socially responsible backstory that I like a lot. Worth travelling for (and so close to Flour and Chocolate too :) ).
