The Blue Poppy

By far, one of my favourite places to go for brekkie or brunch!
The food is absolutely delicious, amazing coffee and the staff always greet us with a big smile.
I'm a creature of habit, so I hate when food isn't consistent. But not here! The food is always the same, delicious, mouth watering goodness!
I love their Eggs Benedict and Cheese Toasties.
Every single one of the staff are so lovely and friendly. They're always up for a quick chat and a laugh, and very attentive to everything and everyone.
For those of you with dogs, Blue Poppy is a dog friendly Café. They got water bowls and everything for your fur babies.
So next time you're around Morningside, make sure you pop in for some delicious food, amazing coffee and great company.

Dropped in for coffee ahead of a big day. Seduced by a plate of food heading past on the hands of waitstaff, I decided to stay, Fill my tummy and get my head on straight. Only regret is not bringing the pup. Patient and accommodating staff. Just busy enough to ensure adequate people watching options for the bored, and just quiet enough to ensure a seat somewhere. Generous serves, fresh food, good coffee. Gluten free and dairy free options, 'of course'.

I regularly go to Blue Poppy for coffee and they deliver every single time. Service is always with a smile and chats 😊
Their food is decent & sweets are delicouuus.

Great pet friendly cafe with great coffee. As they take your order there are two people working the coffee machine listing in and working on the coffees.

The line can be out the door but often your coffee will be ready by the time you have paid for your order.

I love that they jump the long black orders to the front of the line as they can make a long black in under a minute.

On weekends they fire up the bbq and add great weekend wraps and rolls to the menu. Nice community vibe as only after a couple of visits they remember your order and name.

Fantastic Cafe. 😍 Found it on Google Maps. Food was fabulous. Had the Eggs Benny which was cooked perfectly and a delicious hot 🍫 chocolate. Would highly recommend visiting The Blue Poppy whenever you are in the area.

Great atmosphere, tasty fresh food - the pop-up grill out the front on weekends provides a serenading backdrop of crackling bacon and egg fry-up

What an awesome cafe, lovely welcoming staff and an amazing atmosphere. The coffee would have to be one of the best I’ve had to date from anywhere in Australia and the Dirty Benny, that was an amazing spin on the traditional version and I can’t wait to go back and have it again. The jalapeño Hollandaise sauce just had the right amount of heat to it and the potato waffle as the base was an excellent touch

Third or fourth visit to the Blue Poppy and the coffee was amazing as always. Seriously cannot fault here, consistently smooth tasting and quick service!

Have also tried a few of their toasties, on our most recent occasion we grabbed their chicken cheese and aioli one. In the past, their toasties have been on sourdough - it seems like they’ve switched to Turkish bread which is a bit of a shame. Despite this, was still pretty delicious and would order again. The only suggestion I will make make for here surrounds their use of takeaway plates and containers. Seems a bit wasteful considering we and quite a few others were dining in and they seem to have washing up facilities. Regardless, will definitely be back as the coffees as so good!⭐

The most fancy yet delicious smashed avo & dukkah on toast. Ask for vegan and get chickpeas instead of feta. I recommend being a Millennial Hipster to give it a try 👌🏻

Also, staff are super lovely, even willing to give up their secret recipes. However, please leave them alone, because you won't be able to recreate it.

The best cafe I have been to in a very long time where the service was amazing, the food was fresh and the atmosphere was relaxed and carefree.
Will definitely be going back.

The bacon and egg burgers are fantastic. Great little spot, feels like home.

Amazing little hidden away cafe. Delicious food and coffee for surprisingly reasonable prices. Keep an eye out for the dirty benny if you love good eggs benedict with a spicy kick.
Cool little BBQ setup out the front on weekends for a quick take away wrap or breakfast roll.
Good amount of seating inside and outside, lovely setting in a quiet little street.
I'll definitely be returning to the blue poppy.

Had a great breakfast here, the menu is varied and the food was delicious. The place had a great vibe and I love that the staff seemed to know so many of the regulars. Super friendly, wish it was my local spot.

what a great little find, myself and son both loved our meals. amazing sauce in the eggs Benedict.....Son had the burger who loved every bite ..... he has already asking to come back, next time we are in brissy. Great job

What a surprise! Was up in Morningside visiting my daughter and stumbled across this little gem. The "dirty Benny" is a dish I have never eaten anywhere in the world, a twist on eggs benny it's served on a potato waffle and the hollandaise sauce has a kick with jalapenos diced and tossed in. Further the magic mushrooms where to die for. In short a must do for breakfast if your in the area.
