Lash Vixen

Horrible experience! I had previously completed a lash course but it was a while ago and I wanted to gain my experience back and be more confident. I rang them up to ask about courses that would suit my ability best and they suggested the beginner class. Thought I would be able to actually apply come extensions. I was wrong. Did not let me touch anything at all. Emailed the lady in charge to ask for a refund for my class or to swap my credit over to complete another class only to be replied with a very unprofessional email and rude comments. They tried to blame me for what had happened when clearly it was their fault. Will not be going back and will not be sending any of my friends that I know their either.

I called to inquire about taking a course to fine tune my skills before taking up a job offer as a lash technician at a salon. I’m certified since November of last year, but passed my unit back in July. I was told by them, that the beginners course was the one for me. I paid my fee and enrolled in the February 26 class.
5 minutes into the class, I asked the instructor, Paige, and reiterated to her, that I was taking this course to fine tune my skills. She hesitantly told me that it was “up to me to decide” if I wanted to stay or not. I thought, I paid for it I might as well stay... all the information I was told was nothing new, and I felt like I only learned 2 new things from what was not even in the information packet, I had to ask to clarify.
After lunch we came back and began working on our practical. My instructor asked me, “since you’ve applied lashes before, can you lay down for the demonstration?” And I said, sure no problem. Well after she had showed the rest of the class how to apply the lashes (keep in mind, my eyes are still closed!) she hands her work off to a student in the class who said she was allergic to the glue and could not have lashes applied. I spent the remainder of the afternoon laying in that bed having lashes put on and removed.
That evening while reflecting upon the day, I realized that it really wasn’t fair that I paid the money to not even do what I had asked from the very beginning. So I sent a message to their Facebook page explaining that I would like a refund for the course, as I felt it was a complete waste of time.
I then received an email from Justine, who I believe is the founder? of Lash Vixen, tell me over and over again that she’s “sorry I felt this way” showing no empathy whatsoever that I was robbed of my money. She claimed that Paige took me under her wing to show me her lash application (how could that be, as my eyes were closed during the demonstration?) and that infills and removal isn’t even part of the curriculum but Paige taught us anyway. Again, I was not learning anything new! I replied back in a respectful and mature manner, hoping that the tone of her email would turn around, and instead it just got more rude. Every time I offered a compromise, she would not budge. I asked if I could use the money from the wrong course that they recommended to me towards the correct course, and she said “because it’s with a different instructor, no”
The only choice I had was to “make it work with my schedule” and “take the April 28th course” to have someone look at my work. That’s 2 months away, and now I have to put my career with the salon on hold until then? No thank you.
I ended the conversation with a “thank you and good luck in your future endeavors” and will be telling all of my friends not to go through this company or purchase their products. Absolutely horrified that this happened to me and hope that nobody else has to endure what I did. Save the time and money, guys.
