Okuman Karaage & Ramen Bar

The staff are so wonderfully attentive which made the whole experience awesome. Food was delicious and it was my first time trying red bean dessert, delicious!!! All 5 of us enjoyed the food. The sake is also very cheap and super tasty.

Dropped by one of my favourite Japanese restaurants in Brisbane

Ordered "The best fried rice", it's a big call but certainly delivers and appreciated, very delicious and the portion size is quite generous.

Next came out the super plump grilled eel, on top of a bed of fluffy rice, complimented by a generous helping of Teriyaki sauce, the hit of ginger and wasabi condiments complimented the simple dish very well.

I also ordered the Karaage Chicken and Takoyaki, both came out piping hot, special mention to the batter on the Karaage, it's super light and crunchy.

This is an authentic Japanese restaurant, the staff speak Japanese and are always very very pleasant and polite.

Looking forward to my next visit and great eats.

The food was outstanding! We loved the Okonomiyaki, Ramen, and fried chicken. The miso soup was also exceptional, and the salmon avocado hand roll was incredibly fresh. We're looking forward to coming back on our next trip to Brisbane.

The only thing to note is that they don't accept cash.

Happened to walk past and was attracted by their specials. Amazing service, very polite and friendly. First time trying cold ramen - very refreshing, loved the citrus twist. Nice house sake to go with the ramen. Bustling atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Early Friday night dinner with the family. Seated quickly. Servers Hamma & Sakura were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The delicious food came fast and fresh. We had a range of Bento boxes, Ramen bowl, and alacarte items (sushi, sashimi,unagi, inari, pickles). All were good. Paired with sake and asahi for the adults, ramune for the kids. Towards the end of the meal the crowd vibe shifted more to younger folks exuberantly prepping for their night out so not sure what it’s like later. But early evening was lovely for us and our two 12yo kids. Well priced for the quality. Recommended.

Delicious, fresh, good value. The only thing I suggest is that unless you want all your food on the table at once, order in batches. We will be back.

So happy to have eaten here, ordered the veg ramen with egg soooo delicious. And $5 sake special can’t go wrong. Lovely authentic Japanese feel inside.

I went there today just to try it out because I love Japanese food, I was blown away, the food was so nice and really good price, the service was also amazing 10/10 definitely will go back 😍

Dropped in for a quick meal on my own & it's nicely set up for this where solo diners can sit at the bench. Friendly Japanese waiter who took the time to chat, even though busy. I had the $22 Bento Box special... basic nice food.

I had a great time at this restaurant. The waiter was one of the nicest waiters that I’ve ever had. The food was great and not expensive I would definitely recommend it. It’s a 10 out of a 10

Great food, great service. Amazing bowls the ramen came out in! A little pricey but it's realistic and reasonable. Will be back!

My favourite eating place of all time. Can order from servers or QR code. Everything is delivered so fast and the beers are icy cold.
Staff are always. happy and friendly and the prices are really affordable, wether it's a quick snack or a full meal.
toilets available in the building behind the restaurant and are spacey and clean.
There is plenty of onstreet parking around and lots of public transport available. Walking distance from Southbank accommodation too,
Absolutely love this place , for a romantic dinner or a group booking, it has never disappointed.

A delicious array of Japanese classics. Perhaps a little limited on seating like so many excellent Japanese places.

The food was delicious!! Specially the chicken bao and the croquettes. The waitress was lovely, thank you for everything ❤ We will come back!

So good, I’m posting a review immediately after dining here! Wish I’d found this place earlier!! Excellent food, excellent quality, excellent drink selection, excellent speed and of course, excellent service!

The wagyu skewers were so nice, we ordered them twice!

Also enjoyed the Okonomiyaki (Japanese egg & pork pancake) alongside Edamame (beans), but ate them too quickly to take a photo. Best Okonomiyaki I’ve had to date!

First time trying rice beer (Koshihikari Echigo). Automatically a favourite!!

And for those who enjoy a good affogato, they offer one with a Japanese twist! Black sesame ice cream with sake! SAKE!!

Please go there! Highly recommend them!

Arigato gozaimasu!

A fabulous dinner out with friends, where everyone really enjoyed their meals. We had karaage chicken, gyoza, rice meals and ramen. Everything was fantastic in taste and generously sized. Also good Japanese beer selection. Really enjoyed the black lager. I would totally recommend this place.

Excellent service and great flavours. The hotate was so satisfying to bite into and the Udon was packed full of flavour. They have an amazing range of sake and beer. Prices are also very reasonable.

Absolutely love Okuman. I’ve taken a few Japanese friends and they often message me later for the details of the restaurant so they can go again. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Food is a tad pricy but you get what you pay for. Can’t go past the salmon sashimi!
