Our experience was made even more memorable by our amazing waiter, who looked after us all afternoon with impeccable service and a friendly demeanor. The menu is diverse and delicious; we especially enjoyed the fresh oysters, which were a highlight.

The Tropic is part of a fantastic trio of restaurants, including The Burleigh Pavilion and Rick Shores, each offering its unique charm. I have been visiting the Tropic since it opened and it was consistently good in the beginning, there were a few occasions in between where it had been hit and miss but I am happy to say that they are back on top with their food, drinks and service and I am here for it. Wonderful experience on our last visit thoroughly enjoined the food and the drinks.

There are 2 restaurants upstairs, The Tropic (fine dining) and the Pavilion on the right, more casual. We walked into The Tropic at 11:30am and were seated on the balcony. Beautiful views of the beach/city. The wagyu ( med-well done) and lamb shank were excellent and tasty. Service impeccable but it comes with a cost. Definitely worth experiencing at least once.

Lovely night at The Tropic. Our waitress Tessie was so helpful with recommendations for food & drink. It was all so delicious, fresh & quick service. The barramundi melted in your mouth!!! The coconut chilli margarita was to die for! Always have a great experience here!

A large group of us visited The Tropic for my friend's 40th birthday dinner and it was a wonderful experience. The set menu and cocktails were on point and the service was excellent. The spiced bread with parmesan and zucchini dip was really tasty and the braised lamb shank was cooked to perfection. There is a night club just next door so once you're finished eating it's easy to slide on over for a boogie.

This dining spot is truly exceptional! The dishes are top-notch and carefully curated. The staff goes above and beyond to cater to our needs. A definite must-visit food paradise in Gold Coast!

Nice viewing from every single angle. Even went there in weekday still full house. But we are so lucky, just waiting 10mins for a beach side table. The pizza is fantastic too, they use the wooden oven to make the dough. That is my favourite cooking method of pizza . They also have a takeaway counter downstairs.

We had an amazing time. I’m not sure how this place doesn’t have all 5 star reviews. Tyana was beautiful and friendly 10/10 for service. The food was delicious (burata dip and spiced bread) the view was outstanding the cocktails were amazing. Can’t wait to come back next time we visit the gold coast. It’s a place everyone should visit.

Wow - this place was amazing. Food, atmosphere and staff were brilliant. There was a thorough wine selection and great cocktails! Would highly recommend going and we will be back for sure!

We tried so many dishes only photographed a few. The bread, tarama, tuna and avo and carpaccio were excellent. We also had a mushroom special which was amazing. The prawn pasta and risotto with walnuts were both enjoyable. The service was good. The menu is quite small but the dishes are all on point. It's a pricey restaurant. Beautiful location and beautiful view. Recommend and I've returned a few times

From the minute we walked in for our mother-daughter birthday lunch, Bec made us feel as if we were dining at her home. She was so welcoming and genuinely keen to please. She made our day. Along with the setting, that view and of course, a menu and cocktails that hit the spot. We’ll be back!

We had a fantastic lunch at the tropic! The food, drinks and atmosphere were all outstanding but the best past was the service we received from Marco he was knowledgeable, attentive and has the most infectious smile!! Thank you Marco for making it a memorable experience 🫶🏻

We celebrated our wedding at The Tropic with 180 family and friends. It was absolutely outstanding. The staff were amazing and made sure all of the guests had plenty of drinks and food. The food and service all evening was excellent. The lead up to the wedding was made very easy for us. Nothing was ever too much! Kathy and Sarah did an amazing job making sure everything ran smoothly and we had a night we will never forget ❤

Great location, can eat food while looking at the ocean. The food is average. I’ve had a chicken schnitzel and it was pretty good, very crispy.

Today's market fish is barramundi, fresh and delightful. The view is beautiful, making it a great place to relax with friends.

Great atmosphere despite gloomy weather.
The food menu is limited however each dish is presented well and delicious. The spiced bread and grilled prawn are so good. Its expensive, but we had a fabulous time.

My son and I hosted a fantastic Lunch for 5 here on 24 December. It was a very special occasion as our family were up from Sydney for us all to celebrate Christmas together for the first time, and The Tropic proved to be a perfect venue. We were given just about the best table in the house, lots of different dishes were ordered and food was scrumptious and beautifully presented; and welcome and service from Zoe was warm and friendly, along with her colleague who saw that one of our family members was feeling cold from the ocean breeze and promptly brought her a blanket. We were all knocked out by his intuitive and empathetic service.

Thanks so much to The Tropic team. This was a very special Lunch and occasion our family will always remember.

While Tropic is one of the more expensive dining options in Burleigh I absolutely felt like we got excellent value for money.

Obviously the venue is spectacular and has the best vantage point on the coast, but what about the food?

My partner and I had oysters and bubbles to start which came out quickly and were beautifully fresh and had a great buttery texture.

Then puff bread with taramasalata and burrata, the bread was sweet and savoury and moreish. The dips, each delicious and contrasted against each other nicely.

Then it was prawn pasta, snapper and potatos. These dishes were high quality and much more generous than I was expecting.

The absolute highlight though was our waiter, James. He was friendly and attentive without being overbearing and his knowledge and enthusiasm for both the wine and food menus really enriched our experience. We took his advice for both bottles of wine and were very happy with the results. He really took the entire experience from good to great.

Perfect venue for a celebration wedding lunch for my daughter and son-in-law.The staff went above and beyond to help us with everything to make the day special. We had the sharing menu which was absolutely delicious and they made sure the champagne flowed. Stunning views and a great atmosphere. Thank you so much.

Despite the mixed reviews we booked here as a friend had recommended.
Food and service were excellent. Puffed bread and different dips were great, steak and snapper for mains were great, all cooked perfectly. Our waitress Isabelle was friendly and provided great service throughout our meal.
Will return.
