My favorite japanese restaurant in Sydney especially for the price and breadth.

They do seared salmon here like no other. The pieces are twice as big as normal places and they are absolutely delicious. If you’re the type of person who likes sauce, this is your place.

Affordable, great decor, great tasting food!

Easy to order using QR code and menu with respective numbers. We spent $120 for three mains, three sides and three (non-alcoholic) drinks.

Mains were delicious - great flavours. Karaage chicken was a bit plain. Sushi were all great. Would definitely visit again!

Kujira is fantastic! Such delicious and yummy Japanese... One of the best Tinkotsu black garlic broths I've ever had... So good that I forgot to take photos of all the dishes before we had dug into them! Highly recommend everything we had 😂 the atmosphere was beautiful. They have great decor which is super fun and an excellent range of drinks

I always walk past this place and it's always busy. I stopped in one afternoon when it looked quiet.

Staff were friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. Cherry blossoms on the roof, cute music playing.

But the food! When the poke bowl came out I was blown away at how beautiful it looked. Tastes amazing too! Definitely reccomend this little unassuming place 👌👌

One of my favourite places to go. Comforting food and good portion sizes. I've gotten the mazesoba a few times now. Their sushi rolls and ochazuke is good too

Really recommend this japanese place, located on a street corner in Ashfield! The portion sizes are great for the price and everything is good. The atmosphere is great and friendly. We ordered the chicken katsu and tempura udon, on a busy lunch hour on Saturday.

Fast service - in and out in an hour even though we took 25 mins deciding what to order from the large menu. Everything was delicious and serving sizes are generous. It’s a small place and gets busy but vibe was still good. Great neighbourhood gem - would definitely go back!

Try the sashimi sambal taco. Its amazing.
Also the soft shell crab salad is the biggest I've seen. Its the best. Yam chips and Takoyaki. Will be back.

Great atmosphere and I like their decor a lot, and the food was not bad, noodles were a bit soft tho but in general it's still a good ramen 🍜

Great environment and food for a neighbourhood restaurant. Wonderful Japanese-Italian pasta, probably the best dish from tonight’s meal. Although it’s not the best Japanese pasta you can have in Sydney, but it worths the price for sure.

The spicy sashimi is a little bit spicy for myself, but my friends didn’t mind the taste.

I absolutely love this little Japanese restaurant. Love the cute decor, especially the whale and flowers on the ceiling! Delicious foods, lovely service & reasonably priced too!

I enjoyed everything we ordered, my favourites were perhaps the Sashimi Taco (beware as it’s spicy!), Angry California Rolls & the Pork Katsu… simply one of the best Katsu I’ve ever had! I will certainly dine here again soon.

Tight sitting and usually full but the salmon poke bowl or something is a must try. The UDON is so good too. I wish it was easier to get water but not a big deal.

Everything we ordered was amazing, and surprisingly cheap! We ordered:
Spicy sushi taco (with prawns) - actually spicy, so tasty
California roll - filling to rice ratio was awesome, 10/10
Garlic sauce dry ramen (with mushrooms) - oh my goodness, where has this been all my life
Prawn bao - hnnnng, do yourself a favour and get the spicy mayo from the taco as a side dish so you can have these together, delightful
Soup ramen (with tofu) - this was like the tastiest soup base I've ever had with ramen, jeez louise
All this + 2 beers was <$75 WHAT

The food came out so quick, and the waitress was pure sunshine.

A Japanese restaurant in the middle of busy Ashfield CBD, serving plenty of variations ranging from Sushi, Ramen and Curry Rice dishes.
Waiting time could be longer when you arrived during the busy eating time between 6-7 PM, but it is well worth the wait.
The interior is quite unique with the big whale on the ceiling and also studio Ghibli figures.
Ofdrong method is through QR Code on the table, or by browsing through the menu book on the table.
Overall, the food is served in generous portion size which leaves you full or can be shared if need be.
The ramen is well cooked and tastes good, served with perfectly made one full-size egg and seaweed, and the best of all is the pork best is served big 😆👏.

Easily one of the best Japanese restaurants in Ashfield. I’ve been coming here for years.

Their sushi rolls are one of my favourites. They are delicious and are of great value.

The curry udon noodles are also fantastic.

Visited Kujira with my 6 year old granddaughter and we both loved the food we ordered. We loved the interior design specially the whale hanging from the ceiling. Close to home what a great neighbourhood gem - we would definitely go back!

Everything was good. Salmon sashimi was a very decent cut and portion, sushi was delicious. Everything was very fresh. Menu is very extensive ranging from sushi, rice dishes, sashimi to ramen. Sushi rice was warm when served. Good Japanese quality food here. Will definitely come back. Best Japanese in the inner west !

This might just be our new favourite Japanese restaurant in Sydney. We love how friendly and accommodating the staff are and were very surprised at how huge the portions are. Great value for money and the ambience is very authentic. We will be back again.
