Spindrift on the Beach Apartments

My ocean-view apartment was on the 6th floor with a northeast facing, generously-sized balcony offering spectacular views over Mermaid Beach. A spacious, well-equipped kitchen complete with breakfast bar, comfortable dining and living area, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with the main bedroom opening onto the balcony. Big wall-mounted TV in the dining area, plus a smaller wall-mounted one in the main bedroom. Also had a small laundry with washing machine, dryer, sink, ironing board, and iron. A nice little outdoor setting on the balcony for you to sip your morning coffee or evening glass of wine or to just drink in the incredible views. The complex has a heated pool and spa, with a BBQ area and lounge seating, which overlooks the ocean. Beach towels and boards can be hired from the friendly staff, and a single allocated parking bay in the basement is provided. Located a short distance from the Mermaid shops and eateries, including Nobby's Surf Club and BSKT Cafe. I have already booked my return visit. Ceiling fans and air-conditioning are available in this apartment, and a convenient and secure lift can take you to the basement or up to the 6th floor (operated by fob for security)

Brilliant beach side location. Views are glorious. Surf Club and a great cafe/coffee shop are less than 50m away. Rooms are a little tired but pricing out of season is ok.

However the overall package on offer is excellent.

Excellent absolut beach front. We had appartement 6. Perfect. Bathrooms a bit small but location location location! Great body corporate, block immaculate and the outdoor terrace perfect. Definitely reccomend.

I can not fault this amazing oasis in the heart of Nobbys Beach. Fabulous location, ok the apartments are a little bit tired but who cares, very roomy, full laundry in the apartment, view out across the ocean. Watch the Sun rise and set, whales migrating, dolphins playing in the ocean, fabulous swimming pool, perfect spa pool, just the right size. I love the quiet location, cafes, shops, transport all within 10 mins walking distance, and the beach is just on the other side of the fence. No crossing roads, no need to avoid traffic, its all right there. Leeanne the office manager is a gem and as for Peter he's a super star. And yes we will be back next year.

Excellent location, very clean, fully stocked kitchen basics, washing machine and a dryer in your own apartment. Beautiful gardens and endless sandy beach right at your doorstep. I look forward to spending my future holidays here. Spacious car park too. I would recommend this place any-day.

We have had a wonderful 5 nights. Great location for sightseeing. Apartment fabulous. Everything you need.

We have been to Spindrift many times and keep coming back. It is so good and greatly underrated. It is literally beachfront - no roads to cross - you are on the beach!
Views are fantastic; while the apartments are not brand spanking new they are in good condition and well maintained. Lovely pool and heated spa and loads of restaurants to choose from. Much quieter than Surfers and safe for kids and adults alike. Patrolled beach out the front - what more could you ask for!

Awesome spot, close to surf clubs...Peter and Lyn made the stay a very enjoyable experience. The swimming pool and spa were great!!!

we loved our stay here. amazing location for beach and eating. Reception staff were awesome with our late night check in and out...seemless process. for a dated building we thought the accom was very nice (and we're snobby). will def be back.

We loved staying there. The apartment was clean and roomy . We had million dollar views of the beach to the amazing skyline of surfers. It wasn't too high up, which is an important factor in our decision as we are from Christchurch. It was quiet and peaceful. Convenient base for our holiday for trips to malls, surfers, theme parks etc. Will definitely stay next time we are back.

First time at Spindrift and wow! What a position! The photos don't lie, it really does look that good at the pool and onto the beach, one gate and you're there. Waking up to an amazing view each morning. The heated pool is lovely and the spa, glorious!! The patrolled beach right out front is great. The apartment although not completely modern was clean and tidy, I'm picky with accom and I was very happy with it. Location is fantastic, much quieter than Surfers and Broadbeach, heaps of cafes nearby and a great playground only two blocks away for the kids. Bus stops only a short walk away, as well as a strop of shops - butcher, barber, ice cream, cafes, post office, small farm goods shop (mini supermarket but a bit pricier), all very handy. If you don't have a car, the nearest big supermarket is 2.5km away. Leanne was super lovely, we got stuck during lockdown as our flights were cancelled and she was so kind, what a wonderful lady she is, great hosts!! Cannot recommend Spindrift highly enough, we will be back again for sure!!

Stayed here for a week in December and it was awesome. Beach access and a pool if the water's a bit cold. Great 2 bed / 2 bath apartment that looked North over the beach toward Broadbeach / Surfer's paradise.

Well equipped kitchens and bathrooms, but the frying pans had been pretty abused (not flat on the bottoms at all). Rooms and beds were clean and comfortable, and there's plenty of ventilation / sea breeze to keep the place cool.

Check in and out were super simple, although we did have a bit of confusion when we left as to exactly what time we were supposed to leave... rushed out and didn't get to do some of the cleanup things we wanted to do.

Would definitely stay again if we're in that area.

Needed self-contained 2 bedroom apartment and it was great! Well equipped kitchen: frying pan, baking trays, reliable oven, kettle, pans, cutlery crockery. Everything I needed to make our own meals and drinks. In close proximity to a nice cafe and Noby Beach Surf Club where we could go out if we felt like it. Just 20 mins drive to Pacific Fair. All this at a good price! Will stay here again. For sure...

Torn that if I write too good a review, this place will explode in popularity and I won’t be able to get a booking!! However I have to be honest - and the truth is if you’re looking for a weekend away on the GC, look no further. You are right on the beachfront and walking distance from amazing cafes, bars and restaurants. The balcony is the perfect place to open a bottle of wine and spend hours looking out onto the beach. (Tip - for your wine, visit Somm, the local bottle store with an amazing selection). The pool and hot tub are divine. I will most definitely be back!!

Great value for money!!! Stunning two bedroom apartment, with spectacular views from every room of the ocean. Very clean, short stroll to surf club(excellent food) and cafes. My new favorite place to go for some time out.

My family and i thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Spindrift this October. The apartments are lovely and having the beach as our backyard for the week was convenient and relaxing. Management was a pleasure to deal with and overall Spindrift exceeded our expectations beyond measure. We will definitely be choosing to stay at Spindrift for many holidays to come!

We have stayed in lots of self contained accommodations in the past, but this one is right up there, 10/10. So accommodating, when I had to extend om a very busy weekend they found a solution for us! We will absolutely be back!

My stay at Spindrift on the beach was perfect, our apartment was clean and everything worked fine.
The manager/owner was happy and nice. The whole stay was great.
The only bad things were the pool closed at 8.30 pm and the reception closed at 11.30 am on the weekends.

The apartment is spacious with lovely ocean views from the balcony. Rooms are clean. Beds are comfortable and the price is more than reasonable. Perfect long weekend getaway.

Spindrift on the beach is an excellent resort. It is the closest to the water I've ever stayed. The quality of the rooms was excellent and would highly recommend it to others. The cafes, restrurants and bars around the corner add to the relaxed feel.
