My family and I went Auburn Club for yumcha at Nan Han Restaurant this morning. A front desk lady stopped me because I wore a singlet. While I was prepared to leave, another lady came out offering a club shirt for me to put on before allowing me/us in. Thanks for these ladies’ flexibility so we don’t need to go home with empty stomachs. They are Lesley and Phillippa, and well deserved a promotion for having performed such good customer service today.

This is a nice club but if feels as though there is space missing when you enter the club. All of the seats feel very separate and it doesn’t feel communal.
The staff seem quite friendly

I’m only giving this an extra star because the manager and other staff was quite reasonable and explained the circumstances well. But the receptionist at the ground floor was absolutely appalling. My friend had a birthday diner there and it was everyone’s first time, we came in two cars and we didn’t know we had to validate the parking tickets, on our way out my friends which had limited English asked for my assistance to speak to the operator which was at the reception desk. He had let my friends car out and then he made me (the second car) reverse and go back up to validate my ticket which was fine. When I went back up, he kept saying that there was signs saying that we need to validate our tickets. He repeated it over and over again and when he handed back my ticket it would probably be the twentieth time he said it, so I said “thank you, but it was our first time here and no one had told us once, and who looks at signs these days.” There was never mentioning of validating tickets from the restaurant or the bar and the signs were located on the low coffee table of the reception area. Which he commented “oh so you’re not educated?” I said “excuse me, that is classified as discrimination and do not attack me personally.” To which he replied that I attacked him with the comment of who looks at signs these days. He later followed by a comment of “you don’t know how to read?” This is the most appalling response I have ever heard from a customer service representative.

They have a smoking area within 4 meters of the restaurant and there were a bunch of people smoking. I have a baby and the manager refused to do anything about it.

Absolutely terrible people. Who thinks it's okay to let people smoke around a baby?

The man at the receptionist... someone should have called the police on him.

We used the building parking but there is no sign of any payment/charging what so ever. We asked the receptionist and they quickly took the parking and refuse to give it back unless we pay them 5 dollars and threaten to hit us if we dont.

Should call the police on these pigs.

I came in on Monday 11am on a public holiday, looking forward to yum cha with my dad until your reception told me that basketball singlet were not allowed which doesn’t say anywhere on your website, after calling the yum cha place all they could say is that they allow you at times just depending how the reception feels, this is not acceptable at all , please either have it on your website that states dress code or have it in front of the building.

Very rude and power tripping staff, I use to frequent the place as I live nearby for a few beer and a bet in the tab but have had enough of their attention seeking staff specially the Chinese lady at the reception, for a few beer and a bet I am now frequenting and also recommend Keighery Hotel nearby
