I had an amazing experience at Canton in Bankstown Sports. The food was absolutely incredible, and the service was exceptional. The staff were friendly, attentive, and efficient, ensuring that my needs were met throughout my visit. Additionally, the parking situation was convenient and hassle-free, which is always a plus.

Now, let's talk about the food. It was truly a culinary delight. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the portion sizes were generous. Each dish showcased the utmost freshness and was served piping hot. I left the restaurant feeling completely satisfied and with a genuine sense of culinary satisfaction.

Looking at their name, I thought that only serve Cantonese cuisine! However they’re actually a modern Asian restaurant! It’s great to see a modern Asian restaurant in the suburb without having to go to the city, however so sad to hear that they’re closing soon.

The crispy eggplant was super good & was my family’s fave dish 😍! I loved the pork belly: perfectly cooked & the apple salad balanced the richness 👍. The other dishes were yummy too! Wagyu beef rendang was so tender. Although the barra fillet dish was small, we didn’t mind it as it was boneless & it was yum. I’m going to miss this restaurant.

Simply compliments to the chefs! Every dish we ordered was finger licking and had amazing flavours. Definitely one of the best in Syd and we will be back for more delicious food! Crispy eggplant is a must try! Dont miss out! Yum Yum Yum! Will crave for their food for sure!

Beautiful interior. High quality food. Generous serving size. Highlight was the wok fried rolled rice noodle - absolutely soft, chewy goodness. FYI we ordered 3x prawn toast and got 6x triangle pieces - we were pleasantly surprised.

Duck 3 course are so good! Crispy Master Stock Pork belly with Thai Chilli Caramel, Mint & Apple is something different from the usual other restaurant cooking style. Amazingly delicious! Stir Fried Black Pepper Wagyu Beef so tender and can taste the wok hei. Steamed Barramundi fillet is too small portion but cook perfectly. Jasmine Rice a little bit overcooked. Overall we had a very satisfied dinner!

I love this place!! The food here is amazing and the service is outstanding. The manager Carlo always goes above and beyond to provide great service and hospitality. We always feel like home when we come here. This is one of my favourite restaurant's to eat at. 11/10 !!!

Located inside Bankstown sports club.
Cantonese Chinese restaurant with classic traditional vibes.
The food tastes good with variations of selections of meat, fish, poultry, vegetables and drinks.
I recommend duck pancakes taste amazing, duck wrap with soft skin and hoisin sauce.
They are open kitchen.

Amazing restaurant in Bankstown Sports Club. The restaurant fit out is perfect. Staff are wonderful and highly attentive. Every dish was perfect. Had the salt and pepper squid which included a garnish of fresh coriander, chilli and lime. Vegetarian spring rolls delicious
Duck pancakes which were next level the duck was cooked to perfection.
Honey King prawns excellent
Vegetable fried rice which was great
Highly recommend will return.

This is one of my favourite restaurants. The food is outstanding, the atmosphere is amazing and Carlo the manager goes above and beyond for his customers and makes you feel so welcome. I highly recommend this place and will always keep coming back 😊 I love it so much 👌🏼

Great fusion Cantonese cuisine using the freshest ingredients. Very cozy atmosphere, ambience is just right, also serves excellent craft beer from a micro brewery just a few doors down, clean and centrally located in Bankstown. Located just a few minutes walk from and to Bankstown train station.

Went back after the latest restrictions lifted tonight. What a difference it makes to have so many people out and about again, not to mention, inside the Sports club itself.

Went back to Canton Kitchen with my family and I was a bit sad that the menu has been reduced somewhat, might be to do with lockdown. Hope the extensive menu makes a comeback soon.

Dishes we ordered tonight, while still tasty, I did notice some minor changes:

1. Crunchy eggplant - it was more batter than eggplant. The ratio of batter-to-eggplant was way, way off; the sauce was still good, though.

2. Soft-shell crab - again, way too much batter than was good for the crab. However, the salad that came with it (green and ripe mango, mint and light lemon dressing) was to-die for. I wanted more! I really think it needs to be a dish all by itself.

3. Duck pancakes - there are better ones out there. I felt it was too expensive for what we received (half portions).

4. Steamed barramundi filet - totally faultless dish. Yummy. Very well executed.

5. Vegan options (corn ribs, steamed wombok, and stir fry veggies) - well-cooked, best order some steamed rice to go with.

Overall, my table was very happy with our food, but we felt the reduced menu quite keenly.

Service was also excellent. Thank you to the lady that looked after us - table 13, on 13th November at 18:30 (now I wish I had asked for your name!). I think your section tonight was very happy we had you looking after us.

Canton Kitchen has recently opened in Sydney’s North Shore, in Castlecrag’s Quadrangle Shopping Village.

It offers a menu showcasing Cantonese classics with a modern twist, a new take on traditional Chinese food.

The dishes on offer have seen chef Jason Chan fusing together traditional flavours with new ones to give it that twist. You’ll find hot and sour, sweet and spice and we personally love that numbing sense, to be found in particular on those chicken wings.

The venue is spacious with Chinese poster art adorning the walls and hanging lanterns from the ceiling. They also take group bookings with two private function rooms, and 10 course banquet menus for groups of four and up. We tried much of the food on offer so we are testament to this being a good choice.

We visited for the launch and were brought out so much food, the most we have ever experienced at a tasting. It is phenomenal we were able to try it all, yet we kept going back for more. The food is brilliant. Below is a list of the menu items we tried.

Entrees

Steamed dim sum platter - we loved the truffle mushroom in particular

Silken tofu with house made vegetarian xo sauce & shiso on a betel leaf - this was a crown favourite

Steamed Venus bay blue tail prawns, garlic and vermicelli

Hot & Numbing chicken wings - kept us going back and back for more

Mains

“Typhoon shelter” style tempura vegetables - so interesting! A nice light batter over a variety of veggies

Sweet & sour Kurobuta pork, pickled lotus root & pineapple / crispy skin and moist meat. Thoroughly enjoyed this one

The Grandma’s sticky Mongolian lamb ribs were outstanding- melt in your mouth

The Mushrooms, morel, tofu, sugar snap and truffle was a lovely stir fry

Singapore chilli king prawns, Fragrant sambal, heirloom tomatoes - the sauce is like that on a Singapore chilli crab

The Riverine beef short ribs, black bean sauce, pickled celery & onion was the absolute winner on the night - we would eat this every day

Seafood Mapo tofu, Lobster, Alaskan crab, king prawns

Canton kitchen special fried rice, chorizo, squid, prawns & saffron - quite a strong seafood flavour to it

Dessert

Fried ice cream, coconut caramel sauce - extremely generous serving!

Coconut sago, fresh fruit, lychee popping pearls & sorbet topped with Persian fairy floss

We were so so full by the end, but loved it and and cannot speak more highly of the food on offer. Quality Cantonese food with inspired flavours.

We never heard or read the review at this place so going in blindly due to last minute plan. We ordered the pork belly, sweet sour pork and mie goreng with grilled chicken. They were amazing!! Very delicious and tasty. I didnt even have the opportunity to take pics but definitely come back for more.

Best Asian restaurant in town. The restaurant has a very nice vibe. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend for family dinners. Food are amazing here.

One of our favourite restaurants in the area now, all the staff are very attentive, especially carlo he is terrific host and makes your dining experience extra special. Highly recommend the nasi Goreng & the bbq pork ribs. Wow.

Started off with a bang! Ordered three entrées and the one that caught my taste buds the most was the scallop dish. It was absolutely stunning, the different levels of flavour in the scallop served on a betel nut leaf was immaculately done. The subtle flavour of the betel nut leaf didn’t over power the dish and the scallop was cooked to perfection. Su mai was juicy and plump. The seafood spring roll was succulent on the inside and with the in house plum sauce, it complemented each other so well.

Ordered quite a few main dishes and let me just say, worth it. The dishes that stood out the most was the massive honey king prawns - fresh, not frozen - Deep fried and glazed to perfection. Crispy 🤌🏼pork 🤌🏼belly🤌🏼 needs no introduction and the char siu was absolutely roasted to perfection - so tender.

Last but not least dessert - The mango coconut granita was a wonderful surprise to finish off the night, delightfully refreshing, crunchy and melt in your mouth deliciousness.

All in all - attentive service, good ambiance and lived up to the hype, however one thing I would comment is some of the dishes has heavy uses of coriander, but can easily be avoided and picked out. (I love coriander, so it didn’t bother me anyways). Will be coming back again and would highly recommend friends and family.
