Just had two new white hens delivered this morning, great transaction no hassles whatsoever. They arrived very happy and healthy with nice red combs. Eating and exploring straight away, such lovely hens. Bought our first 4 from here as well. Staff are so nice, friendly and knowledgeable. I will always buy from Barter and Sons. I highly recommend this place to buy your Fluffy friends.

Team was very helpful. Debbie is always helpful and happy to offer her advice. We bought four chicks for the first time and Debbie helped us with all the advice we needed. We actually had to exchange one of the birds due to unforeseen reasons and Debbie was more than helpful to assist.

Bought 3 Barter Blacks, stunning looking chooks and a Barter White, the service can not be faulted, Deb was easy to deal with, delivery was prompt, if you want good looking hens that lay, this is the pace to get them.

16 days ago I bought a dozen eggs, put them under my broody and as noone wants to hear it ended with disaster (my fault)! But when I cracked, out of curiosity to make my suffering worse....11 of those were fully developed! So...whatever you do, you do it right! 80% is an average, but your chickens are way over!

Purchased fertilised eggs here today and received the absolute best customer service I've had in a long time. The lady that served us was so informative and let me ask so many questions without judgement or annoyance. Will definitely be back here.

EDIT : all of the 6 chicks hatched! Sadly, one didnt make it. But the rest are healthy and very energetic! Already eating and drinking watching mama.

The best place to buy chickens from. Our chicks are gorgeous and so healthy so if you’re looking for a place to buy yourself pet chickens from, this is the place to do it. They’re also extremely informative when asked questions about anything chicken.

I called for some assistance/ technical questions about broodiness etc. Deb was very helpful and knowledgeable. I've got 4 hens from this hatchery and touch wood, they are very good layers and very healthy and happy.

Bought 2 baby chicks from Barter + Sons, those chicks are now 10 months old, happy and healthy. I would definetely recommend getting chicks/chickens from here - Infact, I am soon going to get some more chicks! I think some other reviews posted were accidents/their own fault. What can they do if their customers drop their eggs!? (No offence intended)

I bought four chooks over two years ago, gave me eggs from each one of them everyday for two years, chooks are healthy and happy. Going back to buy two more chooks soon. The staff are friendly and helpful always.

We have bought our days olds and point of lay hens from Barters for 30 years, and still make the drive there rather than buy from closer hatcheries. Always friendly, helpful and willing to spend the time and their knowledge with you. Our kids love to pick out their chooks, and their chooks are always happy, healthy chooks complete with beaks (not debeaked like some) and claws...the way nature intended.

Very kid friendly (small and big) service, the one stop shop for all things required for champion egg laying hens. The kids loved today's visit. 👍👍👍

We are pleased with our four barter black hens. They were well fed and healthy, and are adjusting well.

Actually I have never been there. But have had many wonderful years of rareing chickens from ghis Hatchery. The Australorps are the pick of them. Always quality hens.😍
