Very lovely and hospitable country pub/ hotel, they offer a parking spot for self contained campers at the rear of the property on a stretch of grass (easy to drive round the back) and only ask that you sample their tasty menu or vibrant selection of cold beers 🍻 as a small token for using the space.

The area was very quiet to sleep in and we were made to feel very welcome. The locals in the pub were also a lovely bunch to chat to. Spoke to the owner Kerrie in the morning, she was very considerate when arriving as to not wake us which was sweet, she reminded us we were welcome if we were on the way past again. She mentioned there were plans to add a barbecue at the rear of the property to add to the convenience of the stay. She also mentioned that there were showers / toilets for use for a small fee of $5 to cover the water bill. If you’re doing the east coast road trip you need to make this a stop on your way, much nicer than a rest area on the side of a highway, especially after a long drive.

Thanks again for the stay, much appreciated.

We are Grey Nomads and parked our self contained caravan in the “free stopover” grassed area at rear of pub. Very quiet and easy drive through area. Had a great meal at the pub. Staff were extremely friendly. There is a dump point a few kilometres away at beach. Great fishing at boat point. Will definitely stay here again when passing. it’s under new management and we found the new owner to be very accomodating.

Expected a basic, out of date decor room for a night on the road while travelling from Cooktown to Queanbeyan, NSW.
Was pleasantly surprised by the modern decor & cleanliness of the rooms with an oversized carport/covering the front of the rooms - providing cover from both sun & rain. Friendly & helpful reception who have gone the extra mile to provide a haven for travellers off the noisy Bruce Hwy.
Wchose the option of tea at the pub - a 10mile walk over the railway line (we had to wait for 2 freight trains) but I would opt for the in- house meals at the motel next time.
Pub staff were friendly but a happy & very noisy, large family group & an extremely over- heated dining room added to the less than edible meal of crumbed lamb one of us had.
I would highly recommend the Camila Motel for a restful night while traveling along the Bruce Hwy.

For a tiny off the highway place, it was clean, pleasant setting, had a high chair, friendly service and locals and an AMAZING burger. The chips were great too.

Amazing family atmosphere. Walked into the hotel on our way to Mackay and instantly felt safe and at home. The owners and patrons are extremely polite and easy going. We highly recommend this pub for the lone traveler or family. The food is great and the beer is COLD. They also welcome pets ! Thank you for a great stay ! Hal and Stev - Reactive generators.

Absolute must stop if you're doing a roadtrip down the coast. The owners are amazing and always happy to help in anyway possible. The food is great and well priced, they have a shop built in and the rooms are super cheap. Thanks to Tan and Nat for the great stay.

We went for one drink here when our broken down Campervan got towed to Carmila. We had three drinks as the welcome was warm and the conversation great. The pub is only 500m off the main highway and a slice of genuine Australia. Great collection of stickers on the beer fridges. Food and reasonably priced rooms also available.

Loved this place, dogs everywhere, everyone is super friendly and cheap brews. The room is clean and tidy decent for the price. Not near the water but the beach is about 14mins drive.

Good pub, reasonable prices, cold beer and great darts board. Pity Jayden was useless and owes me a life debt now.

Thanks Kaz and Ian for cold beer, a soft bed and a great chat. Also the pool table is the best I've ever played on. Sooth soft and silky felt covering and the white ball has such a straight line.

I was just stopping in Carmila for one night & found the hotel to be affordable & convenient. The couple who own the hotel were also super friendly & made our stay very welcoming. The food, drinks & the service were great, and I would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re in the area & need a place to stop over.

Staff were friendly. Love the mini shop to the side. Prices weren't ridiculously overpriced and you can play with their dogs while you shop.
