Gungahlin Montessori Academy Child Care Centre

My child has spent one year at the Montassori Academy and we have both loved the entire journey so far. The
educators in Infant 1 & 2 have been amazing. My son feels comfortable and loves going each day. I can tell how loving and caring the staff are towards all the children and makes sending my child to care so much easier. I'm so happy with my child's growth and It's incredible what he comes home being able to do, after learning the skills during the Montassori cycle. A special mention to Mandy, the Director. She is so supportive and helpful. I highly recommend for an overall great experience.

We absolutely would (and do) recommend Gungahlin Montessori Academy to our friends and family when discussing child care centres as our son has thrived within their care. Being a covid baby, we were initially nervous about how he would go being cared for by anyone other than mum and dad, however we soon realised that we had nothing to be nervous about. Since his first day, the educators have been kind, caring and nurturing and supportive of our son and his individual needs. We have found all of the educators and management team to be professional, polite and friendly and we know that our son feels safe being at the centre as he reaches out for the educators in the morning at drop off - there's not much better confirmation than that from a 20 month old! In particular, he has formed a special bond with educator, Miss Ranju, which we are delighted about.
We are very thankful that we were recommended to Montessori Academy by friends who attend another of the centres, we definitely feel that the centre is the right fit for our son.

If I could give more stars, I would.

I can’t believe how much my boy has come out of his shell since coming here, the Carers are so lovely and I honestly feel like he is so happy being with them. Coming on here to read the reviews, I felt disheartened because every one that I’ve interacted with at Gm have been so kind, caring and accomodating. I’ve now moved to South side but happy to make the half hour drive to know my child (10 m/o) is so happy and well looked after.

Highly recommend this place to parents who want to put their kids in child care with the best quality. Teachers are amazing , very professional and very friendly .
My boy had a bad experience last child care centre which was the worst place ever ( one kid kept biting my boy , nobody helped my boy and there was no following the procedures. It happened 3 times ) then I had to get my boy out from that place and sent him to Montessori ( as soon as this place opened) .
And right after that, He has no problems at all, teachers take good care of my boy then he has no more trauma from other kids ( my boy is not scared to be bitten anymore ) and become more socialized.

My son loves his carers and the facilities. As a parent, i would recommend. They are professionals yet loving and caring.

Unrecommended to any child to this childcare, unless you want your child being ignored.
My child was dehydrated and exhausted without nap. My son always stayed alone without any staff supervision ( he is only 2 years old). the staff told me that they were too “ busy” to take care my son. Some staffs have really long and sharp nails and they didn’t not tie up their long hair. They were pretty, but please imagine the children might eat their hair and get hurt by their nails.
I cried when I picked up my son and I decided to not go back to this terrible childcare anymore.
In addition, they requires 4 weeks to cancel the child’s encolment whether other cc requires 2 weeks only.

I made the mistake of joining this centre, after all the bad things I had heard. Funnily enough they were all true. I’m only giving 1 star because I have to. Beautiful centre but other than that, when my child fell ill, came home injured multiple times (with them telling me I did it or it happened at home) and when I complained, nothing was done, no care or remorse. I also agree that the 4 week leaving period and bond of $600 was one of the most extreme in canberra. I won’t say anymore.
