Fortune Box

Hello everyone, today I will share my personal experience with this Chinese restaurant (Gungahlin Fortune Box). According to my understanding of popularization, the first thing that catches my eye when I enter the door is the open dining environment and friendly service quality. As for food, my favorite is Eggplant w/salty fish. I personally recommend tasting this dish because you will be attracted by its taste. Secondly, I am satisfied with the friendly service quality and clean dining environment. This experience gave me very satisfactory feedback. I look forward to spending money next time in Fortune Box. If given the opportunity, I will give a service tip as a reward.

Walked in and found a very skillful chef. Nice cozy environment and welcoming staff. Very tasty lobster, roast duck and veggies. Will definitely return!

Having been to most Chinese restaurants (Cantonese style) to Canberra over the lats 12 years - the food at Fortune Box is the tastiest and the most authentic. It'll be hard to go pass this local hidden gem after our first visit.

PS Our tip is to go pass the English menu that offers typical Aussie-Chinese dishes and ask the Owner Mr Simon Chan for his pick for classic Cantonese/Hong Kong style food.

The boss is very polite, as a Chinese food, he is easy-going and serious about cooking food, which is a respect for diners and food. You can choose your seat at random in the restaurant. There are only two people running the restaurant and they are more focused on making the food than serving it. Would not recommend eating here if you are in a rush, good food takes time to cook

Took a little while to be served but good food takes time! The server was a bit blunt at first but was actually very sweet to us. He even brought us some fruit mid way as a palate cleanser which was unexpected but really nice.
We genuinely loved everything we ordered and will absolutely be coming back!

Love love love! Food was amazing very fresh, the atmosphere was excellent. The dishes well all prepared with care, I am looking forward to coming again and trying some hotpot dishes :) 10/10 I'd recommend, definitely get the Chili Beef 😋

We went there for dinner and had a great meal. The chef is very passionate about the place and food, and it shows.

Interestingly, the restaurant has an open kitchen design, and I was quite surprised by how clean the kitchen looked.

Food was fantastic and the chef is very accommodating. On a previous visit, another chef did not cook a dish the way it was meant to be. Immediately, the resident chef offered to make a new batch for us right there and then. We were very impressed with his service.
We declined his generosity. The next visit, he more than made up for it. Very impressed indeed.

I know they are slow. But the foods taste really nice. Give it a try if not in a rush.

We come here quite often and really enjoy the roast duck, the skin is crispy and on point and the meat well seasoned and savory. My personal favourite it the beef dry noodle, you can smell the fire and smoke coating the noodles !

My daughter was craving congee and none of the Asian restaurants in Gungahlin had any. Luckily, Fortune box had it. We ordered it via Ubereats and Yang Chow fried rice. Both were extremely delicious. Thank you for having congee for my daughter.

Ordered through menulog, driver only grabbed 1 bag and forgot the 2nd, called Restaurant who apologized for the inconvenience and offered to deliver the rest of order immediately.

Exceptional service , a Restaurant who prides themselves on customer service and customer satisfaction. Very happy. ( it was not the Restaurants fault but the delivery driver fault) highly recommended this Restaurant for service and great food.

What a great meal! We actually walked in whilst it was quiet and were quickly welcomed by Simon the chef and his wife Mary. We explained we’d recently returned from living Singapore, loved Asian cuisine and tippy to experiment with their chefs recommendations, wow. I can honestly say the dinner tonight was the most flavoursome and enjoyable fir yeArs and yes, I include our time abroad.

Simon presented bbqd prawns that were 6 inches in length, sliced down the centre, packed with a beautiful farlic sause, grilled and served hot - fantastic. Second course was a meal Simon put together at our request, roast duck, chilli, snow peas, mushrooms in an oyster sauce.. DIVINE! Our next surprise dish was Hong Kong mudcrab, again fantastic.

We couldn’t eat it all and I am genuine when I say, the best meal, best value overall easily rated in over ten years.

although it is a fairly simple looking place, my wife and I have become fans. Their Laksa is spectacular and my wife loves the tofu hotpot.

This is a great restaurant with one of the most delicious chicken dishes I have eaten. Also is very affordable and has become my favorite place <3. Great chef.

If you want to find a quality authentic Chinese dish in Canberra, find no more. It was a surprise to find so skillful a chef in such a small restaurant.

This is an awesome resturant, with great homemade food. It might take awhile to recieve the food, but it is always worth it.

I know some don't like the food but I always do and the man who serves has a gentle demeanor about him. I will be getting more tonight!

This is the best restaurant in Canberra, i give it 5 Stars... I have this 3 meals a day.
