Australia Post - Abbotsford LPO

I would love to leave 0 stars for all the people blaming this post office for the shortcomings of Australia Post’s delivery service. Parcels being delivered don’t come via this post office. They’re only delivered to this post office once an “attempt” has been made to deliver it to your home. You can see this if you look at the tracking information on the Aus Post app. They’re sent out from the depot in Preston, an “attempt” is made to deliver it to your house, then it’s dropped off at the local post office.
The staff in this post office are lovely. They’re always polite, always super helpful, and it’s always a pleasant experience. I’ve had passport photos taken, passports renewed, parcels posted and parcels collected from this place over a number of years and I would give them 10 stars if I could. The staff are friendlier and more helpful than I’ve found in other post offices.
Australia Post’s delivery service is definitely not as good as it used, especially now that people don’t use it as much as they did in years gone by. Mail delivery takes longer, and I’m sure they work on a tighter budget. But it has nothing to do with this post office or the people who work there.

This is quite a handy little post office. Entry is from the service road, and it's easy to miss driving past on Hoddle.

Friendly service every time I miss a delivery or need to post something.

Not sure why the post office is being blamed for Auspost’s sometimes flakey delivery operations, which is still miles better than Aramex, CouriersPlease and the like.

I think we need to distinguish between the delivery service/drivers and the staff at the LPO. I’ve had my fair share of (not really) attempted deliveries and other AusPost shenanigans. But, the staff at Collingwood LPO are excellent - helpful, kind, generous and take the time to really help. Thank you!!!

The sender of my parcel actually put the incorrect address on my parcel.

The older bloke at the LPO was very understanding and used common sense knowing the first part of the address was correct, compared with my ID and allowed me to sign for my parcel.

Seemed polite and talkative too.

I came here because everytime I do a quick search for the opening and close times, the 2 star does my head in. The folk in this post office are completely lovely and enjoyable everytime. And are not responsible for the sub par running of this massive government corporation. This appears to be a family franchise too. Discernment and correctly placed blame is highly needed on many of these reviews (or shall we shoot off our little internet missiles when the dog trimmer comes late and blame the little guys until the end of time).
Note - not a slight on dog trimmers. That's the last thing I picked up. Cheers!

The 2 star rating is so unfair, the people in the post office itself are so lovely and helpful, they are not responsible for package deliveries.
