Number 1 Dumpling & Noodle

Let me start this off, I don't like the smell of dumplings so I don't eat them. My friends were insistent about coming to get food with them here. We get there, no smell or anything, we got 3 plates, 1 pork pan fried dumpling, 1 steamed beef and 1 steamed chicken and my god were they nice.

I enjoyed them so much, came out very quick, very hot and the staff were so friendly.

Discovered this delightful delicious gem in late 2019, service and food has always been amazing, friendly & freshly made. A former housemate was just as addicted and does mention how he misses your food as he moved to UK. I do miss your spring rolls tho but your friend rice definitely makes up for it along with dumplings! Yum yum yum!!

Despite the modest appearance of the shop, the culinary delights within are not to be underestimated. My personal favorites include sweet and sour pork atop fried rice, accompanied by chicken and prawn fried dumplings. Their choice of short grain rice, my preferred variety, enhances the experience. As an Asian diner, I can attest: spotting fellow Asians in a Chinese restaurant is a sure sign of exceptional cuisine!

Came here for the first time tonight and I have to say, WOW! This place is a gem of a restaurant and right next to Spaghetti Junction! After seeing the reviews online about the dumplings I decided to get the chicken and prawn dumplings (12 pieces) and the Sichuan Chicken. Both dishes were great!

The dumplings were piping hot (I got them takeaway) and stayed hot until I finished eating. They were nice and juicy and the soy sauce and chilli oil helped to elevate the taste (gotta have this kind of dumpling with soy sauce and chilli oil!)

The Sichuan Chicken dish was also really nice. The diced chicken thigh was juicy, the veggies were crisp and there was enough sauce to either coat the steamed rice if you wanted to mix it all. It wasn’t super spicy and there wasn’t as much numbing as I thought there’d be (since it’s a “Sichuan” dish) but still decently chilli overall. The rice was also cooked perfectly and not too mushy.

All up it cost $26 ($13 for each dish I think) which is seriously AWESOME VALUE for money! I was completely stuffed afterwards, the Sichuan Chicken would’ve been fine on its own! The gentleman who gave me my food was also super friendly and gave me enough serviettes and cutlery as well.

If you’re in the area and feel like really good Chinese food visit these guys and support local! Looking forward to my next visit!

Totally underrated. The owner guy is super friendly and accommodating. Obviously not your your cheapest joint out there but they're doing their food properly, safely, and in good quality. Have came back many times for them.

Really authentic dining, every dish i've had is delicious. The dumplings go down like a pelican eating fish. Noodle and rice dishes are amazing, great for individual eating or sharing on a lazy susan.

Are you kidding? This little place cooking such awesome fare???. The dumplings were excellent! Beef Satay was great in this style. Look, all the food was simply yummy. Nothing was oily or fatty. Singapore noodle was the best I have tasted in a long while. It is now the place of my choice for takeaway Chinese!!!
And the dumplings are still awesome!

Got myself some homemade steamed chicken and prawn dumplings and entree fried chicken wings for dinner last night. The flavours were amazing! Everything was so well balanced and full of flavour. The accompanying chilli sauce was delish 😋 I can't wait to try more of their dishes. Super reasonable prices, a totally hidden gem!

My partner and I have been going for years now, and this shop has been making us so happy! Everyone is so lovely, the food arrives fast, and most importantly it's ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! They never miss a beat, 100% recommend! Oh, and their dumplings... they will rock your socks!!

I've been coming here a long time now and the food is as the name suggests. Number 1! Of note are their dumplings. Wholesome meat filled pillows of goodness. Very good portions and options and very well priced! It doesn't look like much inside, but you'll be happy here none the less. Delicious. Well done guys!

The food here is amazing! Best dumplings that i have had by far, very juicy and plenty of flavour! I definitely recommend coming here as their food is high quality and you'll not be disappointed at all. Will be coming back here again!

One of the best dumpling places you find in the area freshly steamed dumplings that has loose filling not this lumped. Meat ball that most average dumpling places has. Great food and not exspensive. Must try

Haven’t tried much race dishes yet but very authentic and non-foot court or weird westernised changes, kitchen often loaded I think they are growing popularity, zomato folks I’m highly doubting their intelligence feel like a bunch of snobs that gets swung by looks and appearances. I do really dislike the pork dumplings, chicken with prawn and beef ones are amazing. Spring onion pancake is not the one I expected but was alright. Soup were amazing.

Great quality and value for money. Pan fried pork dumplings are yum and great friendly service. Great place for kids too as some tables are also outside. Great local no fuss meal. Highly recommend this place.

One of the best pork dumplings in Melbourne. The flavoring is just spot on natural, best fresh pork favouring with good balance of all other ingredients. I also like their fried vegetarian spring roll.

Holy hell! You simply have to eat here. Doesn't matter where you are coming from. Train, bus, car, plane, horse and buggy. You HAVE to try these dumplings.
The pork and the vegetarian dumplings are hands down the best you can get. And the staff are so friendly.
