Lakes Books & Games

I walked in to browse their selection of board games and was pleasantly surprised at the curated (albeit smaller) selection of games. If we had more space in our setup, I would've been tempted to get a bigger game but alas, the small game I had in mind was unavailable.

Would still recommend to anyone looking for a game to kill time here at the Lakes.

A great book shop easily the best bookshop in Bairnsdale Lakes region. A wide range and allot of good recent publications. There's also an excellent games section e.g. Ticket to Ride which is a great newer game for family.

Service was excellent. Didn't have the particular book I was after in stock, went through unopened deliveries and searched invoices to see if it had arrived. Very friendly.

A lovely small (independent?) bookstore with interesting selections and pleasant staff. We found a Melvin Beederman book for the 4-year-old with us, and I found a beautiful illustrated book published in 2015 (just in time for ANZAC day this centennial year) of "And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda" -- the 1970s antiwar song that is about Gallipoli (not Vietnam).

Have a great selection of different books you don't see at a mainstream book store.... very helpful lady behind the counter
