Every time anyone in our household has needed the services at Alexandra District Hospital, we have been cared for well by friendly and efficient nurses and other staff, received diagnoses based on thorough and timely testing, and been referred on to specialists or specialist facilities in Melbourne when needed. We feel safer living in rural Victoria with such a hospital and staff there for us all. Thank you, sincerely.

I have been experiencing a bad flu. Dealing with horrible nausea and Ive come to be seen and get medication to help me be able to have fluids and food. However I have been sitting here for 30 minutes listening to all the nurses discuss their personal life. Not happy

Just had my wife return home in tears (who is the most kind-hearted and patient individual) after visiting this facility with our sick son. The staff do not even attempt to thinly veil their contempt for visitors, with my wife and son disrespected, interrogated, intimidated, and challenged regarding their mere presence. After establishing that they did indeed have a genuine reason for being there, the staff did everything they could to get them out the door, not even slightly interested in providing care, attention or concern.

I could begin to understand if this happened in a bustling, overstretched hospital, with the nurses under the pump - but this took place in a near empty facility with disinterested, disrespectful staff. In this instance you failed dismally in your vision of 'excellence in rural healthcare'.

The board of directors need to pull their collective socks up and work to improve the moral and professionalism of their staff if they are going to maintain a modicum of respect within the community.

It should be noted that one shining light amongst this mess was the nurse that briefly took obs, she was genuinely kind. Proof that there are still kind souls that can operate within a culture such as this.

Turned away a seven month old unwell with constant spiking temperatures and next day diagnosed with a uti in Mansfield. A send away comment was "there's no point calling the doctor, they won't just give you antibiotics" which was the treatment the next day.
I don't bother going anymore, it's a waste of my time when there is no care or concern.

Our experience at Alexandra Hospital was deplorable. How they even call themselves a hospital is beyond my comprehension. We were staying in the area and my son sliced his knee with an axe. We went straight to the "hospital" . We waited in the carpatk for 30 minutes while they decided whether to attend to my son. At no point did any medical staff examine his wound. They asked morquestions related to COVID 19 symptoms and where we came from. None of us had symptoms or had been to hotspots however they made the decision to turn us away. If you are in the area and require urgent medical attention, dont bother going here. Head straight to Seymour, so professional, organised and respectful

Staff are great, however harrasing people about a fake disease is beyond ridiculous. Very hard to actually get in and be seen.
