Beds for Backs Nunawading

My wife has been having back issues so we went out shopping for a new mattress over the weekend. After visiting all the well-known bed stores and getting prices, we called in to Beds for Backs in Nunawading to see what they had to offer.

What a refreshing experience! Rick Morris was so knowledgeable and took so much time to show us the effect a bed can have on your back. He said even if we spent thousands of dollars on a new mattress it would not change my wife’s pain.

We appreciated Rick’s honesty and knowledge and we walked away with a plan to alter our existing bed and we didn’t have to spend a cent! Thank you Rick for your wonderful service.

I recently won an ergonomic pillow from 3AW. To pick up my pillow I had to go to Nunawading Beds for Backs, where I meet Rick Morris who explain exactly how to use this pillow to enjoy maximum comfort. Thanks Rick for all the good advice.

Yet again Rick Morris has done his magic to resolve a puzzling issue with our new QS bed in our guest room. The new mattress was delivered a week ago and both my husband and I slept separately in the bed over 6 nights to test its support and comfort in-situ.

Both of us were puzzled to find that one side of the new ErgoLife mattress was perfect but the other was nowhere near as comfortable and we both felt we were sinking in it. How could that be?

In discussion with Rick back at the store today and investigating the mattress structure that we’d bought and the bed-base structure, we came to realise that perhaps our bed base might be the problem. We had bought our base back in 2009 in ensemble with our original QS mattress. This time we’d replaced the mattress only, keeping the original base.

When we returned home to test the mattress flat on the floor, it was perfectly comfortable on both sides. To test the bed base structures separately, we put mild pressure on the sub-structure of the base as Rick had demonstrated in the store and found the timber slats in our base on one side, to be loose/wobbly and in one case, fractured from 14 yrs of use. With more mild pressure on the slats on that same side of the base - where my heavier, 185cm tall-husband had slept for 14 yrs - further timber slats buckled and fractured under pressure.

It was clearly time to replace the bed base to properly support the new mattress. We could have gone elsewhere to buy a new base -either a cheaper one or a more expensive one, - but we’ve opted to stick with Beds4Backs and buy theirs. They’ll deliver the new base to our home tomorrow and we fully expect all will be perfect with the bed tomorrow night.

23 Dec UPDATE ON THE NEW BASE
Rick Morris was right………our old base was not supporting the new QS mattress properly. When we checked it, a couple of the support slats in the 14yr old base were fractured and a small amount of hand pressure finished them off!

New base was ordered, it was delivered next day and a ‘test sleep’ by my husband last night confirmed the bed is now perfect.

This bed in our guest room will now see us through those nights as we age where one of us needs to sleep alone through either illness, injury or just any need for an uninterrupted night’s sleep.

I purchased a Beds for Back's base and mattress approximately 14 years ago and it changed my life. Recently I decided to down size. The best customer services ever. The gentleman was so patient and thorough about everything, and we only wanted to buy a pillow. He identified the reason of back and neck issues and gave a complementary back support for keeping under the mattress. Apologies for very late review, purchase was done in Oct'22. Before finding Rick, we had been to numerous other bedding stores where we were dealing purely with sales people who were only interested in the sale instead of what was best for us. Rick's experience and knowledge is second to none, and he has helped find a great solution for two very different sleepers. Rick has provided exception service and even came to our house a few times to make small readjustments to have a perfect sleep. 5 starts also to the Warehouse team who kept us updated with the progress on the bed - there was a slight delay of 1 week due to covid-19 but the wait was worth the while.
