Manifold Melodies - Singing and beginner piano lessons

Ms. Lorraine is a great piano teacher. She is very kind, understanding and very patience. She contributes to character building of a young children when teaching music. One of the best piano teachers I have ever seen.

I have been taking lessons with Lorraine for 5 years (continuing after high school) and have learnt more from her than any other singing teacher I’ve had prior! Her beautiful nature and passion to see her students succeed has positively impacted my own drive to achieve more and continue learning as much as I can. She has a wealth of knowledge and is expert at teaching any technique in an understandable and achievable way. Thank you for everything you’ve taught me, Lorraine! x

Lorraine is a fantastic singing teacher. She categories different singing styles into animals, which makes it relatable to young learners to grasp the concepts. She is very engaging with the student and motivating, has such positive influence on my child's learning journey. I highly recommend her.

I have been singing in a choir Lorraine conducts for over 6 years now and I never even imagined my voice would improve as much as it has, and it's all thanks to Lorraine! She is extremely knowledgeable about everything related to singing and was able to assist me with techniques to use to make the sounds even more beautiful and melodious. She is practical, with a great sense of humour. I have enjoyed learning from Lorraine and am forever grateful to her commitment and patience in improving the individuals as well as the choir in their capacity. I have been participating in the Australian Baha'i Choral Festival(Sydney) organised by Lorraine and her Wonderful team, every year,since past 5 years. I have also got the opportunity to sing in a couple of concerts around Melbourne with her wonderful Choir group as well and I can say that Lorraine is one of the most knowledgeable music and vocal teachers I have ever met. I love the way she explains various techniques of making our voice sound better, and has scientific reasons behind everything she says. Lorraine is both my vocal teacher and our choirs conductor. She is a bubbly and kind personality that makes every skill level feel welcome and valued. Her knowledge and passion in her teaching shows in the amazing results she gets from every recital and the confidence she instills in all of her students.

I was part of the Baha’i choral festival that Lorraine leads and conducts. I have attended singing lessons all over the world but have never encountered a music teacher that can communicate and transfer her love and knowledge for music like Lorraine can. Lorraine gives practical and easy to learn tips for signing; she makes singing thoroughly enjoyable. Her encouragement boosts confidence and her tips improves singing further, an ongoing progress and improvement. The environment she creates is very conducive to learning.

Lorraine Manifold has to be one of the kindest, most patient and most enthusiastic - not to mention hilarious - of teachers! I have had the pleasure of singing almost weekly with her in a choir setting for 6 years. She is incredibly supportive of all of us as a collective and individually, providing us specific techniques and tips to improve everyone's sound and abilities, regardless of varying experience levels. I've also had the opportunity for individual workshops and can't recommend her highly enough!

Honestly, as a mother of a 8 year old daughter who loves to sing, I couldn’t of found a more suited teacher than Lorraine. She made singing fun and enjoyable and the techniques she used to train my daughter were age appropriate and fun! My daughter learnt so much over the course of a year. Very happy, thanks Lorraine you are fabulous.

Lorraine has taught our son piano for nearly 4 years, and is always kind, fun, patient and encouraging. Her lessons are full of variety to keep things interesting, and often includes a music-related game at the end of the lesson. We’re impressed with how much our son knows about music now.

One thing Lorraine does which is a bit different to many teachers is to focus on virtues displayed when learning and playing, such as persistence, courage and attentiveness. This has helped to keep our son engaged and to keep trying even when he has found something hard. We feel very lucky we found Lorraine as a teacher!

The Manifolds are some of the most talented singing teachers you will ever meet. They have built my and my husbands confidence over many years both in our voices and in our ability to perform. It has been a gift, a pleasure and a blessing knowing them and learning from them and I hope I continue to have them as friends and teachers for many years to come. Anyone who knows them personally would know immediately that any one star rating is completely illegitimate and from malicious intent. All of our love to you Lorraine and Alan!

In conducting her weekly choir, Lorraine is good natured, caring and motivational. No-one is left behind and there is a continuous focus on improving technique, but not at the expense of enjoyment.

Having also had the opportunity for personal attention to my singing voice, Lorraine quickly identified the key issues and areas of focus that I needed to address my learning goals, and gave me sound techniques which I found immensely helpful, in terms I could easily understand and which were targeted at my level of experience.

Definitely worth 5/5 stars, if not more.

I highly recommend Lorraine as a singing and piano teacher. My 10 year old daughter is learning technique and musicianship while having fun. Lorraine's lessons are very engaging and she explains new ideas in ways that are easy to understand. Lorraine is really improving my daughter's ability to focus. I really admire Lorraine as an educator and as a musician.

It was fantastic singing with Lorraine as our choir conductor! She is a perfectionist and has a clear vision of what she is expecting from us. However she always guides and instructs us and brings her point across with a lot of humour. We literally laugh out loud during practice, which I am sure contributes to relaxing our vocal chords and bringing out the best in us 😊
