Every time I dine here, the food is amazing. Sure people complain about the wait, but if you lift your head from your cell phone and see that the restaurant is jelly jam packed full, what do you expect; It doesn't hurt talking to each other while you wait. With this knowledge, line up before you're dying of hunger so you can score a table and devour your weight in delicious food.
For an Asian restaurant, the food is surprisingly not greasy and you don't feel like killing yourself after you eat here, how good is that! Asian food that doesn't lead to suicidal thoughts.
The restaurant is plenty big to sit lots of people with comfortable seating and lots of table space to pile food on.
Around 1800 lines start forming out front, so be aware.
Good dishes: Everything, but the duck with steamed buns is damn good too.

Whenever we are in the city, we visit New Shanghai to snack on dumplings. Despite all the visits over the years, we have hardly ventured away from dumplings as they have always been exceptional. The decor here is beautiful and the service is efficient. I would recommend trying the Xioalongbao, the pan-fried pork buns and any of the dumplings. I particularly like the shepherd's purse dumplings served with the peanut and chilli sauce. The dessert section has some interesting dishes that are definitely worth exploring as well.

Service is abit slow. But the food is very good especially the xiao long bao 🥟

I had lunch there yesterday and the service and food was quick and delicious.

I witnessed the most horrible abuse to one of your waitresses by a customer who was beyond rude and the young girl did not deserve to be screamed at, intimidated and stodd over while copping abuse the way she was. I have never seen such a childish disrespectful and scary verbal screaming by a customer in my life. After minutes of yelling it upset the waitress. She did not deserve that.

I had several dishes.
xiolongbao dumplings, drunken chicken, seaweed salad, beef nooudle soup, calamari rings, and prawn dumplings with sesame paste sauce.
They were very nice. I recommend their dumplings the most.
I visit there whenever I think of xiolongbao.

Cozy and elegant restaurant, the staff is always very nice and was able to get a free serve of dumplings for my birthday. Tastiest xiao long bao ever!

My first time here. I ordered the pork dumplings and pork belly bao. They both tasted so good. 😊

You have to try the pot stickers and the Xio longbao (soupy dim sum), best dumplings in town!! The decor is super nice and the staff is friendly despite how busy they are! I don’t understand other reviews complaining about using QR code or the staff ….there is a line to go there every day and there is a reason for that, it’s amazing!

Overall food was really yummy. The pork belly was excellent! Service was good too :)

Pan fried buns and xiaolongbao soup buns are reconmended. Free birthday dumplings if you sign up on their site as well.

Good food and service. There is usually a line if you come during lunch hour but food is worth the wait. Affordable prices, and staff are really friendly and attentive. Great place to have authentic Chinese food.

There was a wait at 1.30 and limited tables as per Covid rules but was worth it, have been here multiple times and order something different each visit and always impresses

Extremely authentic and tasty. Coming from Shanghai I can say that this is definitely the best Shanghai restaurant I have eaten at in Australia.

We came here for my friends birthday and it was brilliant! There was one table available in this beautiful somewhat hidden room. Gorgeous presentation. Lovely staff and incredibly fast service. The food and drinks came out so quick and it looked pretty busy. The drinks were amazing! So delicious along with the filling food.
Will definitely come back here again :)
