Next Practice Newstead - Medical Centre

I’ve been coming to NEXT Practice Newstead for over 2 years and it’s always been a pleasure coming to this clinic. Friendly, efficient, and effective every time.
I’ve had great experiences with Dr. Wesley Chan each time I’ve had an appointment.

I was originally reluctant to choose a private clinic over bulk-billing, however the genuine care & service provided is worth paying for.
Simply having a doctor that actually gives you the time of day is well beyond what you’ll get out of the public health system.

I have been sick for days so I called in today to see a doctor urgently (regular doctor elsewhere was on leave) and was helped by Jessie who ensured I was seen in less than 15 minutes, making the experience of finding a new doctor easy and stress free.

I was seen by Dr Tristan who was extremely empathetic, kind and helpful, I was happy about his professionalism and level of care, he was genuinely interested in learning more about my overall health to ensure I get the best medical care.

Glad to have found a new caring doctor who truely wants to help, not just get you in and out the door!

When I lived in the area, I always went to see Dr. Lauren Prictor, who was fantastic. She then referred me to Dr. Marija Lugonja, whom I've seen multiple times now.

Even though I no longer live nearby, I will continue to come back to see Dr. Lugonja. She is incredibly knowledgeable and always puts me at ease right away. Her friendly and welcoming demeanour creates a comfortable environment for discussing my concerns. She takes the time to explain things in a way that's easy to understand, allowing me to make informed decisions about my health. I've even brought my partner to appointments, and he also speaks highly of the care we receive.

The front desk staff and nurse are also friendly and helpful, making the whole visit smooth and enjoyable.

I'm thrilled to have found a doctor who genuinely cares and listens to my concerns.

If you want top notch medical care, I recommend Dr Marija Lugonja and the next practice!

Had a really good experience from start to finish seeing Next’s physiotherapist Zak. Reception staff were lovely. Zak was very professional and fixed my sore neck in 1 session. I’ve been to a number of other physios in the past that spend the majority of the initial consult asking every question about my history, and very little time hands-on fixing the issue I’m there for. Zak was different. He asked a few relevant history questions and was quick to recognise my symptoms so he spent a good amount of time massaging the area and resolving it. I would recommend this practice and I will definitely be back if I need a physio again!

My GP and the team at Next Practice Newstead are fantastic. It was my GP, who despite being ignored by the specialists, took the time to listen, advocate and investigate. As a result I now have a clear plan, diagnosis and am feeling much better. Definitely recommend this practice.

My friend who works at Next Practice at Newstead encouraged me to bring my daughter to see one of their female doctors. I'm so glad she did. My daughter was always incredibly anxious going to the doctors but she was instantly at ease in the calm waiting room & friendly staff. The nurse was so lovely and warm, really taking her time with my daughter. The doctor spent extra time building rapport with my 5yo too, including turning on the bubble machine in her office. We got what we needed that day but we also have overcome her fear of doctors. I won't be taking her anywhere else!!

I cannot recommend this practice, their RN, and Dr Marija Lugonja more. Seeking medical advice can be a very vulnerable position to be in at times; however, Dr Marija makes me feel so comfortable and safe in her environment. It’s really rare to find a place like this with doctors who not only care about your physical and mental health, but how they deliver their care with anxious patients. I’m so appreciative of this clinic & their kindness. Thank you!

Reception staff were smiling and helpful when I arrived. Premises were attractive and comfortable. Dr Amanda Hume was warm, considerate and thorough in our consultation. Dr Maria Lugonja is the best GP I have ever seen- she is warm, compassionate, honest, and makes you feel totally comfortable. She is very thorough in her treatment and a real problem solver. She also has a great sense of humour, and its funny to say but I genuinely look forward to our appointments. I have seen other doctors at the practice as well on occasion (Dr Prictor and Dr Hume) who were both brilliant. A beautifully decorated, modern practice as well.

I recently saw Dr Lauren Prictor and honestly she is the best GP that I have seen in such a long time. Her holistic, proactive, positive and thorough approach left me feeling heard, cared for and confident that the treatment I was receiving was not only the right treatment but a plan that was thoroughly thought through and personalised. Finding a practitioner that is as exceptional as Lauren is rare and I am very grateful to have such an excellent care provider looking after me and my children.

I am genuinely so impressed with Next Practice Newstead. I have been attending for roughly 12 months after an initial visit for a quick flu shot. My doctor Dr Marija Lugonja is second to none, I couldn’t recommend her more.

Can not speak more highly of a medical centre! After going to a different doctor's clinic in the area for quite some time, I decided to change due to Next Practice having more availability and is much easier to get into. The facility is very nice and dealing with both Dr Lauren Prictor and Ashley on both visit's was just amazing! They both went above and beyond to ensure care and great customer service was provided and they were very knowledgable and caring. I have never come across another doctor as knowledgeable as Dr. Prictor! They even have complimentary tea and coffee whilst you wait! Will definitely be coming back - best medical centre I have ever been to. Will definitely be recommending to people in the area! 😁

Impressive new clinic, modern and welcoming. Excellent Acupuncture Practitioner! I am delighted with Violeta's treatments and care. She is very knowledgeable, friendly, and I am refreshed every time I visit the clinic. The treatments improved my mobility and my back pain decreased considerably.

Next Practice is definitely one of the best GPs I have attended in Brisbane. Their doctors are caring, knowledgable and very attentive. I know that I am always going to get my questions answered and any concerns reassured. Their staff are just as warm and helpful too. They have so many other services like physio, psychologists, dieticians and cosmetics as well. Cannot recommend more highly!

What an amazing experience when it comes to the new age of modern of going to the doctors, a welcoming experienced team of staff from the reception to the nurses and of course the doctors. The care level is to be seen to be believed your definitely listened to and heard from the mountains. When you need this team make a booking and be treated like person which is rare nowadays.

Great new clinic. Very clean and modern (including the technology they use). The GP was very thorough and understanding of my health. Whilst they don’t bulk bill, it’s worth it for the expertise provided (it’s not just a 10 minute in and out appointment).

Incredibly welcoming and professional staff in a beautiful modern practice. I came for my Covid booster and the GP was thorough and friendly. I’ve also seen Zak the physio here previously and would go back again without hesitation.
