Matt and his team have just finished rebuilding my tired old Trek bike and the transformation was magic. I can't believe I'm riding the same bike. Matt's perseverance and uncompromising pursuit of excellence in all things cycling was evident in every meeting and conversation we had. If you want someone to love your bike more than you do and ensure it gives you the best possible performance, then Matt and his team won't disappoint. Matt even took photos of Black Beauty for me! I've spoken on the phone with Matt a couple times and he's provided me with great advice multiple times. I went instore for the first time today and he took the time to show and explain a few simple things that he's probably done thousands of times over.

Gear Shop Brisbane has been my one stop shop for all things bike related since I moved to QLD 2 years ago.

As a track cyclist, it can be hard to find knowledgeable track specialists for advice, servicing and purchasing of track-specific parts and equipment. However, the team at Gear shop are right behind the track cycling scene in Australia and deeply involved.

The crew at gear shop have helped me with custom builds and orders, including a recently made set of training track tubular wheels/rims pictured.

Their ability and willingness to work with customers on custom and bespoke orders is remarkable. Yet, they are also well stocked with everything you may require at short notice, from chainrings, to tyres, helmets, glasses, parts etc. They have always been able they source exactly what I was after, including rare PISTA Oro tubulars for my race wheels.

For a quality service from a group of welcoming and knowledgeable people, you can’t go past The Gear Shop. Highly recommend 10/10.

Got my gravel grinder serviced here after they reopened and I couldn’t be happier with the process start to finish.

Matt was even able to give me a few tips on how to get the most out of my ride and a few things to look out for.

Serious kudos for having the one thing I needed, especially as it’s made from unobtanium and rarer than a unicorn’s…
An amazing array of goodies for fixies, singles, geared, old, new, and everything else in between; and not as expensive as you might think!

Matt and Kieran at Gearshop were super helpful in choosing components for my bike. They are great mechanics with a positive attitude that always want to help out. They also have the best components and offer great advice. Highly recommended, best bike shop in Queensland (maybe even Australia).

Great to have GEAR back up and running after the recent renovations. I took my Colossi in for a service during their renovation period. The guys were happy to accomodate and did an unbelievable job on my bike. The advice they offered re parts and maintenance was a great help. I know I can trust their expertise. Built something brand new same day, and were super accommodating despite having many other customers and a dog in the shop. Great quality build and super happy to make multiple adjustments so it fits and rides perfectly.

It's rare these days to find such a gem of a place that is so passionate about their craft. These lads live and breathe bikes, they are incredibly helpful, have great bants and build sick bikes.

The team at the Gear Shop in West End are very customer friendly. My experience was exceptional and I am very grateful. They generously tuned my bike at short notice to keep me moving. It was also nice to run into an old friend. Highly recommended.

Broke a foot strap trying to do a skid on my fixed gear bike on Friday morning when riding down to the shops. Found this store online looking for some wild coloured pedal straps to replace my bland old ones. Spoke to someone on Friday midday over the phone and then proceeded to order them that afternoon to be shipped to Perth and they arrived via express shipping first thing Monday morning. Incredible service, very helpful over the phone, and very quick order processing times. Very highly recommend! Thanks so much. Will hopefully visit when I go to Brisbane in the future!

Ordered a road bike from overseas for my daughter to use whilst at UQ. Very easy process – they had it all ready for her when she arrived and were super easy to deal with over email. They clearly also provide excellent after-sales service as recommended she bring it back for a comfort check after a couple of rides. Bought helmet and other accessories there as well. Fantastic service. Highly recommended.

I checked my NJS bike in to Gear for an overhaul after many years of neglected maintenance (whoops). The lads provided excellent technical info on all the parts/procedures needed and made me feel truly valued as a customer. First time back on the saddle and I can confirm my bike is rolling better than ever and sporting a fresh new look. This shop is such an asset to the community and I highly recommend a visit.

Matt, Cappa and Kieran are always super helpful. They are extremely knowledgeable and can fix almost anything. The shop might be small but their range and stock are impressive. And if they don't have anything you need, they can get it quickly. Always a pleasure doing business with da boys.

I've been thinking about buying a new bike for a while, unfortunately Gear Shop weren't able to order the model I was looking at but that didn't stop Matt and Kieran from offering me a beer and chatting about my options for about an hour (I was open to their ideas about other bikes they'd recommend). Instead of trying to sell me something else, they helped me find another dealer and get a really good price on the bike I wanted. I've been getting my old bike serviced here for a while and will definitely be coming back. I've also dropped in with minor issues and they've been able to do a quick fix for free. You know that these guys are real bike enthusiasts as they explain everything to you in detail, offer a quality service, and won't rip you off. Keep up the great work guys!
