Boss Shade

I just had to share how much I adore my new Boss Shade umbrella for my patio. It's become the highlight of my outdoor space, adding so much charm and functionality. Whether it's shielding me from the sun's rays or a surprise rain shower, this umbrella has been a rockstar.

I recently ordered a Cantilevered Umbrella, and I must say, it was absolutely worth every penny! This sleek and stylish addition has not only elevated the aesthetic of our backyard but has also become the focal point of our outdoor space.

I am thoroughly impressed with the service provided by the Boss Shade team. Very good communication and their pool Umbrella is awesome and much stronger than we had before. Looking forward to spending more time in our pool.

I purchased a Boss Shade Umbrella after having numerous cheaper brands that never really lasted. The Boss Shade cantilever Umbrella is worth the money; it is strong in the wind, provides a colossal amount of shade, and is easy to use.

These umbrellas are awsome! Heaps better than I even expected.. it looks good & maneuvers really well & real easy.. like you can adjust it to pretty much any height & angle you can think of.. awsome buy would recommend any day!

Just installed our 4m umbrella. You can see from the construction that it is built to last. It's so easy to wind up and manoeuvre.

I’m sure the product is good quality, but the website is deceptive, they don’t have half the things advertised for sale. Not available at all. Never were. Just to rope you in. Then the salesperson Nate was arrogant and pushy to buy a model much larger than I require.

Please take note of my sorry experience if considering dealing with this business. For the caution of any other potential customers, I provide a detailed report below.
They are not manufacturers of the products concerned - they are middlemen who pass your order on to the actual manufacturers. As I will describe below, the result is they either have no detailed understanding of the products they sell, or don't actually care once they have the sale in hand, with an abysmal level of after sales service.
After ordering our 5M+ retractable awning, it was finally delivered personally by the owner (Bob) and the salesman we dealt with (Russ) in January, due to understandable COVID related manufacturing delays. This is where our trouble began.
My builder was on site and asked for advice/input on the installation process from both Bob & Russ, as the written information they provided on the topic was literally one page long! Bob & Russ looked at each other and said "Sorry, we can't help you". Seriously. This is where my alarm bells started ringing and I realised I was dealing with salesman - purely and simply - and not the manufacturers.
So my (highly experienced) builder and I proceeded to install the unit ourselves, which cost me an additional $1,000 in fixings and labour, on top of the $7,000 I had already spent on the awning. We found the folding arms would not seat fully, with two of the arms overlapping even after full level adjustments were made. Thus, the unit can never fully retract.
But it gets even worse.
There was no wiring diagram supplied for the motor or arm lights. There was however a one page information sheet written in an Asian language(!), regarding operating the wind controller, which is designed to close the awning automatically once the wind exceeds a set level. Seriously.
Again - they have no idea or care regarding the product they are supplying - otherwise they would know exactly what instructions are included (or not included!) with the awning.
At the request of my electrician, I rang Russ for wiring information at 9.57AM on 03/02/22 (yes - I kept detailed records). I will never forget what he said - and I quote: "Your electrician can work that out". Unbelievable, yet word for word. I put down the phone and my heart sank, as I knew I would be up for even more financial pain due to (quite frankly) the completely unacceptable performance of Boss Shade.
So, another $1,000+ dollars later, as you will see from the attached photo (note the junction boxes & conduit), the electrician had to work out the electrical installation with no diagram, no help from Boss Shade - and clearly they couldn't care less.
Could it get any worse you ask - well yes it can!
I have an awning that has now cost me $9,000+, but when it was unpacked, there had clearly been damage caused in transit to several of the protective caps on the LED lights on one arm, and an LED strip. I flagged this at the time to Russ, who simply brushed it off (another red flag!).
My latest call to Russ at 1.34PM on 05/05/22, detailed this damage for the second time, where I politely asked him to call me back so we could arrange replacement parts to be sent. Surprise, surprise, he has never returned my call.
So in summary, please be extremely careful if considering doing business with Boss Shade. I would hate to think anyone else would have to go through the sorry & expensive saga I have in order to get some semblance of a working product. If I had my time again, and knowing what I know now, Boss Shade would be the last business I would use to purchase an awning from.

Update 10/06/22 - please note that many of the reviews placed in recent days are clearly fake, paid reviews, designed to boost Boss Shade's Google review ranking. Some are even duplicates of each other & are typical nonsensical paid reviews supplied by overseas companies with English as a second language. The fact Boss Shade feels the need to pay for such fake reviews simply reinforces my warnings for those considering doing business with this company.

Useless umbrella. Any amount of wind it swings away from its position. I've used the lock pin and tightened it. I feel so disappointed to have spent around $4000 on something we can't use. Definitely not rated to the wind rating it claims. I was also promised a stainless steel base but received galvanised steel. I guess they think their customers don't know the difference.
