Queensland Children’s Hospital Basement Car Park

My child had surgery here and the staff were amazing.
She doesn’t speak so uses sign to communicate.
Most staff new basic sign and were able to have conversations with her.
Her surgery went all, I was updated the whole way through and the doctors were simply amazing and supportive.

Get in early. I got there one day around lunch, drove around for 12 minutes looking for a park and got charged 15 bucks leaving after I couldn't find one. Other than that no dramas.

I used to use the B4 overflow, but the last couple of visits I've been refused entry even though I've seen spaces. Bit stressful trying to find a spot after that but Ive started to arrive way before my child's appointment to usually get around that issue. Not fun if you have a screaming baby though 🙃

This maps app has it's good and bad days drove from Morayfield to the Qld children's Hospital I got into the city and the maps which we adhered to every direction and stayed on the blue line drove us around the city 3 times too my trip from the usual 1.25 hrs to 2.39 hrs very annoying the app was so confused it was telling us to turn right with the arrow at the top and the road sign saying left turn only and visa-versa. Very annoying as I missed the appointment time but managed to fit us in almost 2 hrs later plus the amount of gasoline I wasted driving around heavy slow traffic in circles not impressed. Will give Waze a go on Friday to see if that's any better. This is not the first time but it's the first time I've complained in writing as in now

This place is a freakin' nightmare. The parking is filled up by commuters and nearby workers making it impossible for people with SICK KIDS to get a spot. There's an easy solution to this: require everyone get tickets validated in the hospital wards, that would leave the spaces for the people who really need them. And it's a bloody ripoff. Cheaper to get an Uber or a taxi... crazy.

If you kid is sick and has to go to hospital for an appointment then definitely park here and get screwed by qld health whilst you're there. Super expensive.
