This property is sensational. It sits high up overlooking Cloudy Bay, one of the most beautiful places I've ever been in Australia. There is an easy path down to a completely deserted beach, a rocky promontory with bull kelp lapping the rocks and a rare penguin rookery. The view of the whole bay from the house is simply stunning, the seascape and sky are constantly changing. At night you can barely see any lights at all. There's a feeling of real remoteness and retreat from the world, being with the wind and the waves, the animals and birds. Reconnecting with the Spirit of the Earth. We found the house extremely comfortable for 8 people. It has a well appointed kitchen, beautiful hard wood floors, wood panelling in the bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. We had a big family reunion there with my brother and his family coming from Europe, first time in Australia. Everyone had a fantastic time. I would love to come back. Cloudy Bay is one of those genuinely amazing places on the planet.

This place has stunning views! And it’s central to all things Bruny island has to offer.
I do think the kitchen could be better equipped with more pans and cooking utensils. Especially as there is not much around it’s mostly certain vacationers will be cooking their own meals.
We found the dishes and pans in the cupboards were not clean there were plates people had eaten in and placed back in the cupboards. Not ideal.

Lovely views, remote and very quiet. We were not warned that not only would there be no signal (including Telstra) at the homestead but there was no Wi-Fi provided either. Luckily we could get SOS if needed.
Two of the upstairs bedrooms were without openable windows and stuffy as a result.
No board games in the house.
No surf boards or kayaks as shown in the marketing material.
A longish and difficult in parts walk to the shoreline, and an even longer walk to the main swimming beach. And then to find the water thick and mushy with bitty seaweed.
A drive to the far side of the expansive beach takes you to beautiful and pristine swimming conditions.
If I were to stay here again I would be more prepared with board games and be in a position of not requiring any signal or internet access. As we enjoy swimming though, this location would not be our first choice.
Another point to note - once booked and ensconced, the management were unresponsive to our emails.
