The Boom Boom Room

Went here for my birthday recently with a few friends. It was my second visit but this time we ate in the restaurant area rather than a private room so we got to feel the atmosphere of the restaurant. It has a great vibe and I appreciate the moody interior with dim lighting. Especially after a long day at work. The service and food was exceptional and the cocktails were well presented with a good amount of alcohol. I especially love the yuzu sake.

Had the $108 banquet. Wow. The food was absolutely amazing. Rolled out of there. Service was great and quick. It was a birthday and they did something a little special for the birthday girl. Absolute banger of a meal. Will be back.

My wife and I had dinner here last night. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a smile.
Our waiter and waitress were 5 stars,and it's been the same every time we dine here.

The atmosphere is great! They had a house dj playing groovie, remixed tunes, and combined with the red velvet daycor, and warm lighting really sets the tone for a great dining experience.

Now the food. We both got the $79 per person banquet, as we wanted a "bit of everything," and we weren't disappointed.
Everything was well presented and cooked to perfection.

If you know, you know, but if you don't you could easily miss this place.

Loved Boom Boom Room! The atmosphere and food were great. Our favourites were the scallops and Nigiri trio. The team were lovely and attentive. Lots of gluten free options, big win!

They have varieties of wines and cocktails and gin to choose from. The atmosphere is great and nice environment.
Very chill and not too loud to chat with friends.
I had the chrysanthenum throne and my friend had the Etsu gimlet.

We had quite a few “bests” at boom boom room for our one year anniversary. A best duck accompanied by a mouthwatering sauce that will certainly have me returning. A best scallop filled with flavour floating in a foamy sauce. A best cocktail. Come here for some amazing food and a great atmosphere!

Absolutely amazing dinner. Brilliant service by Karen and fantastic drinks made by Emma and Joel. Would recommend.

Very nice experience with my partner for a Friday date night. Service was efficient with a semi full room, and the wait staff were pleasant. The ambience and vibe of the main dining area was superb, with dimly lit overhead lights and good music. Food was nice, ordered the lamb rump and miso duck breast, lamb was great and so was the duck breast, even if slightly dry. Will have to come back here to try the banquet. For dessert, the yuzu white chocolate almond tart was very good. Great experience overall.

Beautiful as always, food quality and price is incomparable to many other restaurants in the CBD. All staff so personable and attentive and provide such a lively yet polished dinning experience. Cocktail menu is unique and delightfully presented and met with staff who are enthusiastic in elaborating on the process and provide recommendations to taste. Cannot fault the service.

Really quirky and cool fit out with dim lighting and intimate ambience. Wait staff are lovely. We had the $75 set menu which left us quite full! The food was delicious and I enjoyed the variety the set menu had to offer.

Friendly and helpful staff members. Clean and tidy dining area. Warm and cozy atmosphere. Edamame is the best. Good portions. Good food. Good cocktails. But could be better. And a bit overpriced.

Hands down the most incredible food we have had at any restaurant. Every mouthfull made me do a little happy dance. Could not recommend this place more and the staff were so kind also. We even got a cute little chocolate on our dessert for our anniversary ❤ 10/10. We will be back for sure !

Really love how The Boom Boom Room is hidden away under the streets of the city, a actual hidden gem. You can be seated under the footpath and look up and see the shadows of people passing by without them suspecting you're below creeping on them. All the food was amazing, especially the scallop. Do recommend.

Great Japanese food! Place was phenomenal. Our server Kate was sweet and helpful. Will come back to try more.

Our favorites were the octopus, matcha uni soba, and duck main.

The food was amazing.. very friendly staff and the atmosphere was great. The Kingfish and the dessert was the highlight for me tonight but the rest of the food is very good too. Definitely will be back again ❤

The best dining experience. Staff were amazing, service was great. Food was absolutely delicious & presented beautifully. We had the $95pp 10 course dinner for two people & everything was perfect. Espresso martinis were delicious. So glad we decided to try The Boom Boom Room... highly recommended

This cool ambient set establishment situated down stairs on Elizabeth St really sets the Japanese cuisine experience alight with the dishes available. The depth of flavour to every dish is commendable! Not to mention the friendliness of the staff making you feel like you've known them for years.
Check out their menu available online as reference to what to expect! The portion sizes are spot on, presentation is superbly put to the point you don't wish to ruin it.

Mother's Day banquet was absolutely delicious! Such a fantastic location at the old bank vaults. Cozy atmosphere. The food was to die for and cocktails delicious. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
