Bowen Summergarden Cinemas

This middle-of-nowhere cinema was a fantastic surprise. It has the most beautiful, welcoming ambience, really comfortable theatre seats and mouthwatering, delicious popcorn. I highly recommend visiting the Bowen Summergarden Cinema. I know we'll be back again 😊

I just watched new Top Gun at Bowen Cinema. And I LOVE IT! The ticket price is definitely sweet with their service. They sell some snack, drink, and popcorn at the front, which is really nice. Because I don’t know where I can fill me up in Bowen before the movie.I don’t live here.😂

This cinema looks small from outside, so when I walked into theater I was shocked. The space is bigger than I expected. The quality of watching was good. My partner and I had a great time there. Nice talking with the owner. He was so friendly and welcoming. He made sure everyone there having a good time.

Highly recommend Bowen Cinema.👍🏽 If I live in Bowen, I am pretty sure I would come here all the time. We will come back soon.🥰

Great movie theater and the owner, Ben is such a nice man. The snacks and tickets are reasonably priced and it's a great place for a date.

We have been looking forward to visiting this cinema for months, so a 2 night stay in Bowen over the Christmas holiday was an excellent opportunity . Fortunately the fantastic Wonka film was on ( excellent film , beautifully done 10/10) the cinema still has that old type of nostalgia feel, excellent seating , great friendly guy welcoming you on arrival and exit. As group of 5 adults we truely enjoyed the experience, can’t wait for the next visit

Went today for the first time in over 20 years to watch Aquaman II and really enjoyed it.
Staff are just as friendly as I remember.
Loved the hallway full of memorabilia.
I highly recommend this cinema.

When I go there it is always in a good mood there very nice people happy and a lot of people are silent when the movie is on if not he will talk to them

A lovely cinema. Ticket prices are fantastic and the cinema has helpful staff. The cinema itself has a great atmosphere and the seating was comfortable and the screen and sound were excellent. Great venue in Bowen.

I've lived in Bowen all my life (on and off)
and what Ben and Phil do to keep the cinema running for over 60 years is the stuff of legend's.
Hell, They should make a Netflix movie about them. PUN INTENDED Ben.
Ben's seen off Drive-ins, VHS, DVD's, Streaming and taught thousands of local kids the value of Showing a Movie on the Big Screen.

You cannot beat this place for a unique and utterly picturesque cinema viewing experience. From the external decor and tropical views to the classical internal features, it's a delight to enter and be immersed. Price is on point and popcorn is delicious. To really top it off, you are greeted by Ben and his wonderful short exchanges on entry and exit, he really makes your day and visit warm and special. Been many times and will be back for more!

A very unique experience. Took you back in time like it used to be. Although movie and sound quality was top rate. Spend a long time looking at all the posters too. Yummy caramel popcorn.

I really loved my experience here. This has got to be the coolest cinema I have stepped into ever! The lighting is fun and welcoming. The movie posters and signed posters from famous actors gives it a remarkably intimate and nostalgic feel. It is as if you connect to the people there and you can tell that the owner has put a lot of effort and time into keeping it runniing. Always loved this quaint little cinema, even as a kid.

Interesting Romanesque decoration inside the screen, great collection of signed movie posters in the hallway. Very pleasant and comfortable vintage cinema.

My 2nd time going to the Summergarden Cinemas, established since 1948, where to this date the lovely man Ben De Luca will greet and farewell with you a cheeky smile. Bring your cash kids, Cash Only! Intimate little cinemas, well kept and afffordable!!!! Well worth the trip to Bowen, 1 hours drive from Airlie Beach!!
The cinema has local teens working, handling peoples cash, popcorn and choc tops, very polite kids! Good to see :) we seen Guardians of the Galaxy which was a good watch!

More than just the movies! Possibly the best place we could have watched the 1st showing of Mary Poppins Returns in the whole country! Thank you to Ben for sharing this treasure!

My kids first time to the movies and it was the greatest experience. Someone paid it forward and paid for my kids tickets, which was just amazing. Worth the trip we made from Proserpine. Will definitely be making it back for many movies to come.
The owner was the kindest person I have met, he made our cinema experience even better.
