Dr. Patrick is brilliant and has a wonderful bedside manner and most of all, truly cares for the welfare of his patients. The anterior approach hip replacement technique he uses is the only one I would recommend as the recovery rate and associated risks are so much lower. I was up and about within a few hours. Nurse Sharon and reception staff also super wonderful.

The team at brisbane hip clinic are exceptional. Great place to go for advice and management of hip injuries. A couple of particularly negative posts are centred on not having private health. The issue when being managed in a private hospital is that if things go wrong, intensive care costs can quite easily stretch into the hundreds of thousands very quickly. This is something people often don't consider or understand. Many full private practice surgeons won't take patients who don't have private health funds for this reason. Giving a 1 star review purely because of being upset because the receptionist won't take you on these grounds is a poor reflection of the reviewer, not the practice. It will be great when google allows reviews of individuals to balance the playing field.

Highly recommend the Brisbane Hip Clinic. I am only 24 years old and needed a total hip replacement on my right side. Dr Ottley is an outstanding surgeon and made me feel super comfortable throughout the whole process. I was up, walking within two hours of my surgery and now six months on, I am able to live a normal life. The hospital staff and the clinic staff were extremely helpful and nice. Having travelled a fair distance as no surgeons local to me are experienced in the procedure I needed I wasn't sure what to expect. Dr Weinrauch listened to my concerns and significant history and made a plan of action though not what I originally wanted I was willing to attempt for a 3rd time (hoping that next time I do the same injury it goes my way).
Surgery went as planned other than a slight mix-up with an injection I shouldn't have received but this has been discussed and will be avoided in future. Dr Weinrauch does have a great bedside manner and I wouldn't hesitate to come back to him again or refer others to him.
My anaesthetist for the procedure was Dr Steven Cook and he was an absolute rockstar! When provided with a comprehensive medical and anaesthetic history he made contact with me to make a plan for my surgery including ensuring an ICU bed just to keep me safe. Managed my pain post op beautifully and has an amazing bedside manner along with fantastic anaesthetic nursing staff in his team. I wouldn't hesitate to have him be my gas man again and will in fact request him for any surgical procedures I need in the future.

Edit: I finally got my LTHR 23/05/23 by Dr Weinrauch and I couldn't be happier. Other than some issues that are due to my own body rather than anything from the procedure I have healed well, have the same range of motion of my "good" hip and my scarring is minimal. I have since recommended Dr Weinrauch to others because he truly is one of the best out there.

I have been attending the Brisbane Hip Clinic since 2013 and have always experienced the absolute best of care. Dr Patrick Weinrauch is absolutely lovely and his duty of care is exceptional. The moment you meet Dr Weinrauch, he makes you feel comfortable, he's down to earth and will explain everything very well. His assistant nurse, Sharon, is also absolutely lovely and very caring. From my appointments, to my surgery, to recovery - I cannot praise all staff enough. I have my full trust in Dr Weinrauch and can fully recommend him as the best surgeon for your Hip issues.

My experience with The Brisbane Hip Clinic was excellent. I have now had my new hip for just over six weeks. Dr Patrick Weinrauch is communicative and an excellent surgeon. His staff are wonderful from front reception to clinical nurses. All their practises are current, skilled and beneficial and I have no hesitation in recommending this clinic if you need any treatment that is hip related.

The care I have received over the past several years dealing with both hips has been extraordinary from Assoc Professor Weinrauch and the Brisbane Hip Clinic. From the front line staff (Hazel, Jess and Jodie) to the magnificent Clinical Nurse, Sharon and the wonderful Carmen, headed by Dr. Weinrauch and the amazing team he assembles in Theatre. (Thank you Dr Cook and Dr Tucker too!) The staff who do the hard lifting in the wards are very much attuned to Dr. Weinrauch’s leadership and the physio team is exceptional (thank you Rob). Both Patrick’s conservative and his complex surgery has been wildly successful for me and I have felt valued, safe and cared for at every step of my preparation and recovery. My recent anterior hip replacement has been an absolute Whizz and I am completely free of arthritic pain. I cannot recommend any clinic of any kind more highly than Brisbane Hip Clinic. It’s early days. Less than 24 hours ago my hip operation was completed by Dr Weihrauch and Team. I’m already walking with crutches, even one crutch, going up and downstairs, and doing exercises that I couldn’t do 24 hours ago. How about that -it’s tremendous. St Andrews and the dedicated people there were also absolutely fantastic.

What can I say had bilateral hip resurfacing just done and highly recommend this clinic over the moon with the treatment pre opp and post opp I am totally blown away by how quick I've bounced back from this major surgery it is a testament to Dr P. Weinraunch

Despite my efforts to obtain an appointment to discuss treatment with Dr. Weinrauch, I had an unsatisfactory encounter with the practice receptionist. As a receptionist is the face, voice and first point of contact for most people trying to get into the Brisbane hip clinic I would expect some kindness and ability to talk to a potential patient without talking down to them. It's a shame that one person can change the entire view of a practice. Also disgusted that because I don't have private health I can't recieve the care I deserve, despite being able to afford treatment upfront. Really disappointed.
