Better Access Medical

The best medical centre in Brisbane, Better Access Medical provides primary care GP services alongside QuIHN who provides support for those struggling with substance abuse.

I don’t have experience with QuIHN but the GPs I’ve seen here have been the best I have seen in Brisbane. They may be operating on a tight budget, currently unable to see new patients and they absolutely deserve more funding from Medicare, but the quality of care they provide is comprehensive and egalitarian whilst still being bulk billed.

I would like to enrol into the MyMedicare program with them so they can get more funding per visit but unfortunately they aren’t able to just yet.

I currently see Dr Derbyshire who is an amazing, super intelligent, compassionate doctor and the Nurse I have seen there was the same, she took the time to go through all of my history to figure out which vaccinations would be best for me, the standard of care is outstanding. The Reception staff are just as helpful, kind and supportive as the medical staff.

I hope they are able to hire more GPs and provide care to more patients in the future.

Dr Isabel is fantastic. She always actively listens to me and takes the time to explain everything in depth. Even when I have come to her with a million things in a shorter appointment, she didn’t rush me or brush anything off. I have recommended her and the clinic to lots of people and will keep returning even when I move out of the area.

Reception staff are also always very friendly and given they don’t have the easiest job at times they do their best under stressful situations. Hats off ladies :-)

My first visit and I had a caring experience. Dr.Alexander Moore is a great listener and an excellent doctor. Thank you. I will be going back. She was also the only doctor to explain Pain Management to me and how it works. Please use your maps when travelling there the first time, I ended up across the road where One Shot coffee is as there are doctors on that corner as well.

I have been seeing Dr Moore for over 12 months. She is the first Doctor I’ve seen in over 9 years who has finally listened to my concerns regarding my health and continuously works to try and help me come up with a solution to my problems and advocates for me. She is an incredible doctor who goes above and beyond for her patients in a warm and caring manner.

I have always had a great experience here. They are considerate, caring and really want to help those who they treat. I enjoy seeing Gary for my blood tests and we always have a good chat. Dr. Derbyshire is also very understanding and she will offer great opinions! I understand that some people are annoyed by waiting but sometimes these things happen and I am always willing to wait (which has only happened once but with another doctor).

I can not recommend the doctor Marilyn Williams enough. She is extremely warm and understanding and highly educated. You feel completely at ease and know your in the best hands. She called me before my appointment to give me test results at the end of her day when she wasn’t obligated to. She is one of the very few exceptional doctors around.

Dr. Isobel Derbyshire is one of the most competent health professionals I have ever met. She is understanding and very helpful in suggestions about personal health issues. I have seen criticisms about her and think that they are very immature and way over the top.
I think a lot of older GP's could learn a thing or two from her.

Dr Sandy creates such a safe space for her patients, I always feels listened to. I suffer from bad social anxiety, but I always feel at ease when seeing her! You can tell she truly cares about helping you :)

Dr Merilyn Williams is great, she sometimes runs a little late but only due to giving each patient the time needed. She has assisted me alot with referrals and supporting my heart condition and I have made her my main GP due to the time, care and empathy she has shown me.

The best experience I have ever had with a medical centre. I had to have blood tests and was extremely nervous due to my needle phobia. Everyone put my mind at ease and calmed me down. They took the time to listen to me and helped me though the process. I walked in feeling highly anxious and walked out feeling so relieved. 100% recommended!

Had appointment with Doctor Moore, she is such a nice lovely person! Dr Moore is very warm, and importantly very professional! I would love to give her extra 5 stars if there was any!

I was really impressed with the clinic and the staff. The Doctor I saw genuinely took his time to understand what my issues was. I did not feel rushed at all. Overall, the service was great. Amazing that this is a 100% bulk billing clinic.

Was extremely impress with the friendliness of the receptionists and other staff, the doctor I saw was incredibly thorough and kind. Having the blood clinic right there was super handy, saved so much time which means results come back much quicker!

A fantastic service to those suffering in addiction! A great new treatment for Hepatitis C via the liver clinic of the RBWH! Counselling services & Drs & nurses are available! Nicky runs the mudmaps course for recovering addicts to learn new skills for a better lifestyle & to better understand themselves! Also Raff volunteers accupunture which is a great treatment for addiction!!! Plus a bulk billing clinic as well!

I have never had a bad experience here, always seen on time. I have been seeing Dr Derbyshire for a little while now and I am impressed with the service i have been given. She is always there to help and answer any questions I may have.

Great service that goes a long way towards providing the more equitable access to health care deserved by all walks of life. Although staff in organisations like this will never receive the rewards enjoyed by their more mainstream counterparts, I'd like to let you all know that you were noticed and appreciated. Thank you.

I just had an appointment with DR Sandy Moore, and I can not express enough how wonderful and amazing she was. She went above and beyond to help me. She was just beyond amazing i honestly can't thank her enough.

Wonder why there are so many bad reviews..went for a general appointment and Dr Derbyshire was informative and got straight to the point. Helpful ladies at the reception as well..
