Yatai by Hatori Karaage bulimba

The food was absolutely delicious and super fresh. The sashimi was beautifully presented even for take away. Service staff were a bit rude at the front counter but the food quality was superb.

We tried this after reading other positive reviews and were not disappointed! The food is fresh and delicious. Japanese food is my favourite and this restaurant does it extremely well. If you’re after a big feed for great value I’d highly recommend the lunchtime bento boxes. The service was also brilliant. We’ll be back!

Dined here many times since it opened.
The food has always been great, sometimes we have experienced slow service but at the weekend the service was good.
Only downsides were it was a little warm (broken A/C?) and they never seem to have both draught beers available.
Will return.

This restaurant easily gets 5 stars for the food quality alone. We ordered at least 10 different dishes and each one had quality ingredients, perfect ratios and accompaniments, cooked (or not) to perfection. The speed of service was excellent but there was room to improve on interpersonal skills. The atmosphere was good but fairly standard for a Japanese restaurant nowadays. I very very rarely leave such a glowing reference but this was an understated gem in terms of food.

Yakitori experience was really positive here in it’s good that the food can be shared across 3-4 people roughly

The meat was juciy and each yakitori stick was good

Just wish that there are more sauce or at least the source is refillable given that the share platter is pretty big.

By far the best authentic Japanese food I’ve had in Brisbane to date. Amazing noodles and super fresh sashimi. The iced tea was really delicious too

The food at this Japanese restaurant was the best I have ever eaten! It was very cultural and yummy

So far one of the best Yakitori restaurants we've found in Brisbane.
We called in to try a few dishes for lunch and was really impressed with the quality of the food, especially the Port Yakitori.
Also, you have to try their homemade lemonade, had the Lemon Lime and Bitters, awesome!
Will be back to try a few more dishes.

Had an amazing dinner here (see photos)... Great service, delicious meals, reasonable price! Highly recommended... we've been back many, many times! I've been to 20+ ramen restaurants (including a few in Japan!) and the Spicy Miso Ramen here at Yatai is up there as one of my favourites.

We came here recommended by our friends. We ordered a platter of the chicken set, salad, curry and sashimi to share. I love the taste of their food and will be back for more. Service is good.

We had the Yakitori Platter (12 skewers). Very delicious (Mushroom, Pork, Chicken, Wagyu, Salmon & Prawns)

We had a really great dinner experience in Yatai! We ordered the Aburi Wagyu and Tempura Don for main. For drinks, we ordered Blue (Mandarin) and Yellow (Passionfruit) Lemonade. The Aburi Wagyu was the our favorite from the menu! The Waygu was soft and so perfect with the sauce on top! The Tempura was so crispy and fried to perfection, not too greasey at all! And the portion was decent too, they filled us up so much! The drinks were a bit too sweet for us but they were so refreshing after the meal! The menu has a lot of variety, like Skewers, Sashimi, Karaage. Definitely would go back for more menu!

I’ve been here a few times and it is so good! I’m vegan and have tried the spicy itame and loved it, but opted for the teriyaki this time and it was absolutely incredible. Not the cheapest meal ($26 for this and a Coke Zero) but decent portion size, amazing flavours and super quick service. Would definitely recommend!

Our lunch outstanding – the salmon tartar and miso ramen lived up to the hype. The dishes surpassed our expectations, offering fantastic value for money. Eager to return with the family, though mindful of the limited space during busy times.

Our favorite local Japanese - we always order the same thing haha - warm greens wok miso, tempura prawns soba, sashimi kingfish 🐟 wagyu yakitori hold the mayo and lots of wasabi !

Extensive menu of Japanese favourites prepared impeccably well. Many vegetarian options. Staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. Seating was comfortably spaced to provide diners with a feeling of safety, and the open garage door at the front provided extensive airflow on the warm evening. Food quality and presentation were exceptional and very reasonably priced. I would return to this location very happily.

Nice little place with some great Japanese dishes. Special note the Apple katsu dessert.

Amazing food. Love that it is different to your “every day” Japanese and brings out some amazing dishes. My mum had the wagyu poke bowl and I had the sashimi tuna, salmon and king fish with roe, egg, avocado and rice! Also started with pork karaage. Loved every bit of it and a definite must do Brisbane
