Peter's Awesome Dumplings and Fried Rice

We found this place in two different ways on the same day... saw it in the current American Express small business promotion, then, later that day we were walking through an arcade in Surfers Paradise and saw the restaurant. It was a sign! We nipped in to try out their varied menu of lunch special options - Wow. Hesitate to say this, it’s such a cliche - but here goes - absolutely, a ‘hidden gem’. Good prices and food is cooked fast and fresh, to order. So far - Monday of this week, we tried the Satay Chicken and the honey chicken - both with excellent fried rice with luscious smoky wok flavour. The honey chicken was superb - not a dish I’d usually order - but wow - will be ordering it again soon. Today, Friday lunch, we went in and had curry chicken - very traditional and also chicken cashew nut. Both flavoursome and once again, fabulous fried rice. Had some spring rolls both visits - crispy, fresh, yummo. Alan the chef is cooking up a serious storm in this unassuming, Chinese eatery. Luckily prices are reasonable... means we can have a massive beach walk up from Broadbeach, have lunch and walk home and afford to do it twice a week. Friendly service too!

Get the salt and pepper pork. It's a must!!!

It’s a hidden old school gem, not fancy and affordable for a family. Feed our family of 5 for under $75. Great value and a nice meal.

really GOOD food & price. We ordered Sweet Sour Pork, Honey Chicken, Mongolian Beef , Garlic King Prawn and some dumplings. Dishes and fried rice are very delicious, veg are fresh. BEST dumplings I have, pork and beef dumplings. Also Spring rolls are also tasty. BEST choice for family since we 4 people just spend $86.

Quality/price was amazing. We got only dumplings, 3 different kinds, all delicious. The spicy sauce is yummy as well as the dumpling sauce. Would definitely go back.

This is a restaurant for casual dining or takeaway. The lady behind the counter was friendly enough. The prices were very reasonable. Some of the restaurants in Surfers are overpriced without the quality to justify the prices. Peter's is good value with main and a soft drink costing less than $20. The meal came out piping hot after being freshly cooked. I had the meat combination chao mian which was both satisfying and quite tasty. I'd definitely come back.

It was the most simple but at the same time the most perfect and delicious Chinese food .even my 3 years daughter enjoyed the food every time,….I will definitely go there if I visit Gold Coast again.

I don’t have any photos because we inhaled the food so quickly. Really good, tasty, Chinese food! Good prices, very fast. Kept commenting how good it was. Highly recommend a visit.

Loved the take away we got here. The ginger fish was absolutely beautiful. The cashew chicken and house made steamed dim sims were also fresh and delicious. Highly recommend.

Great, fresh food, lots of veggies and very tasteful! We’ve tried dumplings, spring rolls, chicken cashew nut, sweet and sour pork and fried rice with shrimps- all dishes highly recommended to try! I would definitely come back

Awesome little place, the owner is so friendly and helpful. We had hardly sat down and our entree was served. Great prices too, I'd highly recommend this place.

The setup may be confusing to start with, but Peter and his wife are an amazing team that deliver quality food at an unbelievable price. When we go back to surfer's paradise we will be back here again.

Absolutely delicious food! The salt and pepper squid is next level. Definitely worth giving it a go. You won’t be disappointed.
