The North Room

After many years of working in the hospitality industry, we decided to get together with some long time work friends and enjoy a lunch together.
North Room was nothing short of Perfection! Not in a pretentious way but rather in a warm, personal with a touch of understated professionalism in every way. The Food was the most creative menu I have had the pleasure of experiencing in a very long time. The taste, flavours and presentation was beyond. A surprise that kept you guessing. Nothing is as it seems. What is presented on the plate is nothing like you imagine it to be and then the tastes that follow, just blows your mind. Thank you so much for an amazing experience. We can’t wait to come back again next month.

If you are serious about gastronomical experience you can't skip this hidden secret. Tucked away from touristy or main areas the restaurent caters mostly for 'those in the knows' and both times I've seen it filled with locals, ourself included. It's a family owned restaurent, very homely ambience that focus on service and quality of food.

I have tried restaurents across the world, 5* to 1* and i dont' like to simply compare and rank them cuz each offers different niche　at different price point and target audience. North room is what I consider to be down to earth friendly cosy hideaway, like being invited to your best friend's home to enjoy a laid back and comfortable degustation menu with immaculate presentation.

You won't find ala-carte menu with the usuals, instead menu is by tasting course, "snacks" + 3 or 4 main dish to be shared which is not something you find in other places. Chef dedicates his creativity and passion for each dish, with imagination and challenges where you are taken back. Each dish has a very scandinavian reminience reminding me of my Nordic travels. Service is not pushy, not rushed but just right speed, and very friendly.

Here in Gold Coast I struggle to find restaurent that focus on quality delivery, and North Room is definitely one of rare establishments that striked my passion for food.

Quite a small restaurant but an exceptional dinning experience with a very high standard of food and friendly but attentive service.
The four tasting menu was very reasonably priced and we really enjoyed each course which was perfect for two to share.
Highlights were the seafood dishes for me, lobster and squid which were perfectly cooked and complemented well with the sauces.
They also include a few starters and a treat to finish, so you won't leave hungry!
Highly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy fine dining.

To me it’s a very Australian diner experience. Many ingredients in food I have not heard before, not to say if I have tasted. I liked the duck breast and local squid a lot which was put finger lime in it adding more textures. They’re very appetizing.

We had a lovely dining experience at the North Room. The service here was the stand out - you could tell all the staff were passionate about the food and wine they served. The food was delicious - especially the spanner crab bone marrow crumpet. It's a beautiful, intimate venue; perfect for a special occasion.

A lovely intimate venue with great service. The owner welcomed us and explained the process and each item of the 4 different courses. The food was delicious and exciting in its uniqueness. Very much recommend you book a visit.

I had an exceptional dining experience at this restaurant. The food was not only delicious but also creatively prepared using a variety of rare ingredients that I hadn't even heard of, despite working in the hospitality industry for 10 years. The customer service was also excellent, with the kind and friendly lady serving us making our dining experience even more enjoyable. I would definitely return to this restaurant if I were to visit the Gold Coast again during my holidays.

A pleasant surprise, hidden gem in gold coast! Cozy environment, attentive service. The menus are very creative, much more interesting than those so called ‘fine dining’ in Sydney where most of them are just copy cats. We ordered all the seafood dishes, love the jicama puree. Very friendly price as well!

It was a beautiful night. I didn’t upload the photos of all dishes but they all tasted lovely. The service was also great. I have been to multiple Michelin 3 stars in different countries myself but I’d say the service here is more considerate and genuine.

I would highly recommend it to someone who’d like to spend the evening with decent food and vivid ambience.

This is officially my favourite restaurant. Food is spectacular!!! Wine pairing was spot on and service like no other. What a beautiful evening and what an education! Small intimate venue with very passionate people who know their produce and their wine. What a pleasure to be apart of their world tonight. Thank you so much. Visited here while staying with friends on the basis of several recommendations. We were not disappointed. A beautiful experience combining top notch ambience, service, food and wine. Highly recommended fine dining.

Really interesting and delicious combinations of flavours. We had the paired wines which made it extra fun. Staff were lovely. Small restaurant so it felt intimate. We started with a cocktail which was great too - not too sweet. Definitely recommend

Beautiful and tasty food on the tasting menu for lunch. We'd been here after they opened years ago, and it's still just as delicious! Great staff.

Favorite new discovery in Gold Coast. Fantastic value. Most of the dishes quite tasty. Pretzel with Cultured butter is so so good. Also pork caramel treat was super nice. Can't wait to go back here.

Loved all 7 or so courses of our celebration lunch

This was our second visit to the North Room, and it didn't disappoint. The menu changes every few weeks, apart from the signature dishes, so you will have a different experience every time you visit.

You select either four or five courses from the menu, and have the option of matching wines with each course, or choose your own drink from the wine list.

Each course is beautifully presented, and tastes wonderful. There's a good reason why this restaurant appears in the Delicious top 100 every year. I highly recommend the North Room for a special occasion, or if you just decide that you want to treat yourself.
