HECK YEAH. Pricey but absolutely superb yakiniku.
It's been almost 2 years since our last time here, but Wagyu-Ya delivered again.
We had the Japanese Wagyu set with mixed vegetables, and the tuna belly sashimi.

Sadly, my favourite foie gras rice bowl is no longer on the menu, but other than that, everything was top notch.

It’s an unique and coolest Japanese restaurant in Gold Coast. Love the hidden walk way to enter the restaurant.

We booked a table on Friday night and it’s fully book. Definitely recommend to reserve a table before you go.

Black door is the best privacy of every omakase I have ever tried in Queensland. Only 8 customers within a small area, which customers can escape from the crowdy including public areas, for normal customers. The food was wonderful, especially the foie gras with wagyu and wagyu shabu shabu is great as well.

Amazing omakase experience with Chefs from Japan. The restaurant hosts only eight guests per night with exclusive dining experience. Menu changes regularly depends on seasonal ingredients.

You can see the chefs preparing the food in front of you. Chefs will explain the dishes, ingredients, and how they cook the dishes. Ingredients including fresh tuna and fresh A5 wagyu from Japan. The dishes were all well presented and delicious.

I revisited this fantastic Japanese restaurant, and once again, it did not disappoint! The BBQ was incredibly delicious, and the staff were as friendly as ever. The cozy atmosphere made it a great place to enjoy a tasty meal. Can't wait to go back for round three!

Best to reserve a table as this place gets busy. Facilities are good and due to the electric cooktop, it doesn't get smoky or greasy and the food tastes top notch.

We had the Kagoshima chateaubriand, the yakinuku platter, bbq vegetables, uniki sushi, and cold house sake. My favourites (in this order) were: Australian wagyu oyster blade, Kagoshima chateaubriand and the Australian wagyu harami (skirt steak). The wagyu oyster is unbelievable, it has so much flavour and best enjoyed rare. For the chateaubriand, the flavour explodes in your mouth and it was probably best medium. The harami had a little marinade to it which was very nice and I'd highly recommend this cut by as well. The uniki sushi was unbelievably fresh and was the best of is kind of sushi we have ever had.

Was well with the drive. Highly recommended and looking forward to visiting again next month

OMG their wagyu beef was amazing! We ordered their daily platter which was fantastic but slightly pricey. The location is nice with a range of tasty eats from their wagyu burger to salads and karage chicken. If you love Japanese food, this is the spot! With casual eats, fancier dining and dessert.

Cute little gem in Gold Coast! Sashimi was super fresh and delicious! Will be back next time when I visit GC again.

Delicious Yakiniku, great selection of Wagyu cuts. Friendly staff and nice, laid back atmosphere. Highly recommended for a good meal. Although, you pay for quality so be prepared to spend a bit. Was not 100% impressed with the kingfish Sashimi, but everything else was great!

Absolutely amazing fine dining restaurant. I tried several Omakase restaurants in Los Angeles & Brisbane & Gold Coast. Actually this one belongs to the first level of all omakase experiences in my mind. Fresh and premium ingredients. Every dish is delicious (only one is a little bit salty for me, but my girlfriend said it's okay). The chef who crafted the Nigiri was also impressed me (in the picture), and the Nigiri were perfect. Will go back once the menu changed.

This restaurant is secretly tucked away in the streets of Chevron Island away from the hustle & bustle of Surfers Paradise. Authentic japanese dishes served in a traditional manner. Staff are very polite and friendly.

Would highly recommend the Wagyu platter, great to share with friends as you are allowed to do your own cooking. Gives you a bit of an experience whilst sharing a wonderful night with friends.

It is a wise idea to make a booking as they do tend to get busy and tables fill up quickly.

I can’t believe there were 1 star reviews for this place. This is the must go place if you enjoy wagyu. I would come back every time I visit GC!

Went down to the coast for a few days and this was one of the places I had to go to! We did a last minute pick up for a takeaway wagyu platter and they were very accomodating to our last minute request! We were very grateful and super impressed at how quick they were. The meat quality is insane! We got the $120 mb 8-9+ platter and everything was delicious. It was perfect with just salt and pepper but the dipping sauce they provided us paired well with it too. We went to a fine dining japanese restaurant a day later and spent the same amount but per person and it was nowhere near as good as this! We had these as leftovers as the platter easily caters to 4 people but it was just me and my partner. I am super keen to get the A5 wagyu platter next time I’m in the GC!

Situated on a bustling street on chevron island, not too hard to park on street on a Sunday night. The quality of A5 Japanese wagyu was the best, highly recommend to order the wagyu special if in a group of 4. The sashimi platter was also good with fresh salmon, shallop. Must make a reservation during the weekend.
