Big B Books

This quaint little book store is definitely worth a visit. It has a terrific and up to date range of a wide variety of books. The owner is really friendly as well as helpful as are her staff. It’s tucked away in an arcade on Janes Street. Just look for the yellow Social Brew sign and it’ll be there. They also have a cool buy and points system where you can exchange your used books for a discount which increases as your book returns do.

It's such a lovely store! The lady serving us was kind, and the shop was well stocked and presented. It's one of the best selections I've seen in a bookstore for a while. It is a great store to hunt for classics. They sell new and second hand at reasonable prices. All the second-hand books were in great condition, too.

This little book shop was great. Prices for used books were inexpensive and you can trade a book in for some credit towards purchase.

We come to Burleigh Heads to holiday every year ... one of my favourite things to do is check out the stacked shelves from Big B Books. Such a great array to choose from, and especially love I can bring books back and swap or get discounts. It's great to choose from new books, but I especially love that we can recycle secondhand books ... and note, there are no scrappy ones in this shop.
The owner, Candice has a formidable knowledge of books and their authors, and is very happy to help customers too. A great addition to James Street.

A truly amazing bookshop. They always have a great selection to choose from and the staff are warm, genuine and helpful. You could spend an hour in there just looking through all the books. Compliments especially to the lady working there on Sunday’s (Nancy I believe?). Her service is impeccable and she is such a friendly person.

This place is the hidden gem in Burleigh Heads. New and second hand books and fab genre range. The fact it's 2 metres from a great coffee and health food shop, is a bonus. The staff are lovely and helpful, especially owner Candice. If you want a special book, she will order it in. Fantastic range of SF and Fantasy, my fav, and love their support and stock of children's books. I Highly Recommend Big B books.

Big B Books in Burleigh Heads is our favourite bookstore. Both the owner, Candice and her friendly staff go out of their way to find books you are looking for. It has a great mixture of brand new books and exchange books and covering all topics.
The shop puts out newsletters to subscribers to tell them about new releases. They are happy to sent books by mail if customers can’t attend the store, speaking from experience, while recovering from ill health, Candice went out of her way to find me my missing books in a series and mailed them to me, I can’t thank her enough for such excellent service.
As a children’s author, Candice gives book readings for children both in store and in schools, helping them along with reading skills. Fellow authors have book releases and book signing at her store regularly.
This is all part of the pleasure of dealing with an independent book store where both owner and staff are passionate about books themselves. Can’t get this customer service from chain stores.

What could be better than a cute bookstore beside a bustling cafe at one of the world’s most famous surf beaches? Grab a book by your favourite author, a latte to go and lay your towel down on the pristine white sand. Breathe. Life doesn’t get better than this. No wonder the staff are always smiling! Best bookstore in Gold Coast city. Great selection of reads for all ages with an exceptionally well curated children’s section.

Very friendly service and such a variety. Was my first visit and had such a pleasant experience. Even with it being such a tiny store It was as if I walked into a maze made of books. Not sure if it’s something they have running long term but I bought a $4 book and if I trade it back to the store I get $2 back for it, so that means I got the book for $2 and can use my trade in money to put towards a new book. 🤩

Love this beautiful book store, the staff always go the extra mile to get whatever you are looking for, outstanding service. Candice has so much knowledge and is always so friendly and nothing is any trouble. Great to support a small business!

This is the best and most brilliant book shop run by a bevy of delightful , super friendly, very helpful staff in the entire south east corner of Queensland. Don’t be misled by inane comments that it’s a small bookshop - every nook and cranny contains books on all topics. It’s a treat so call in and enjoy the experience.

Love this little book shop. My friend brought me here last week and the selection is fantastic and prices reasonable. This shop gives you a good, cosy feeling the second you walk in. I will be back.

One of the most friendly and well stocked small indie books shops on the Gold Coast. Staff go out of their way to accomodate your book wishes. Highly recommend a visit and not just because of their handy location to cafes and the beach where you can relax with your book purchase afterwards!
