Sweet Mayhem

Happy Valentines Day! We just enjoyed this delectable treat made especially for this day! From what my taste beds can tell, fresh mango, moist sponge, passionfruit, fresh cream and coconut cream. So fresh and delicate! Everything made at Sweet Mayhem is 1st class. I’m so fortunate this local gem is just a few footsteps away from my work. Mind you I drive a considerable distance to pick up a cake now and then. It’s worth it!

If you haven't been here yet and you love sweets, do yourself a favour and check this place out. They're famous for their chiffon cakes but they just have everything. Ginger bread man. Coffee. Pies. Scones (though not with fresh jam). Just the best shop.

A calm little place with a pleasant ambience. Seems popular. Lovely cakes and pastries. And close to 4 hour parking.

The spectacular cake we bought for our daughter's birthday (image below) is a dragon cake.

I've been going here for a few weeks, and it does not disappoint. My only regret is that I didn't find them sooner. Seriously amazing sweets and savoury treats to warm your heart and make you very very happy. The Shire is now complete... we have a world-class patisserie with the most amazing pies and cakes... the coffee is also delicious. I am considering setting up a tent at the door, LOL. So much for my diet... I have just decided that I like myself but chubby so that I don't have to give my new favourite source of joy. Yummo.

I bought 3 slices each of the orange celebration and marble chiffon cakes a couple of weeks ago for a lunch celebration my sister’s 60th birthday. Everyone loved them! Just delicious. I also got a takeaway coffee which was so good. Just the right strength. Thanks Sweet Mayhem! I’ll be back.

The scones and mini-tarts can't be beat, and my coffee was fantastic. Will definitely stop here again when I'm next in Sutherland.

We’ve been regular customers ever since Maria opened the store a few years ago. There’s many cake stores and bakeries in the Shire, but Sweet Mayhem is the best of the lot. Whilst I absolutely love the chocolate cakes brownies and lemon tarts, I find the Steak and Guinness pie to be the best pie I’ve had in Australia.

Breakfast bao is a must have. Coffee is the best in the shire by a long shot. Such a clean store and very airey. Oh and the cakes are just perfect

Authentic food. Light on salt and sugar, big on quality. The menu isn't extensive, but they are consistently good. Slightly on the expensive side, but you couldn't do this quality any more cheaply in a commercial business. Their beef and Guinness pie is particularly good, lacking in the glutinous filler you find in many other pies elsewhere.

Really good customer service and they took the time to describe the taste of the different cakes they have. Had 5 different delicious cakes and my favourite is the bread and butter pudding cake with the cream. The orange and almond was a delight too. Other notable mention were the red velvet, the lemon meringue sponge cake and the carrot cake. Obviously everyone has their favourite.
Cake slices are about $7 to $9 each which is fair given the times we are in today.

The best cake shop in Sydney or Melbourne. Staff are wonderful, coffee excellent but the cakes are so amazing that I do not have words to describe. I stopped making my own special event cakes after discovering this shop. There are vegan, dairy free and gluten free options. My personal favourite is the dragon cake but I have tried them all and they are spectacular!

Bought two cakes for my Mum’s birthday- Cheesecake and the Lemon Curd cake. They were both delicious - I highly recommend the cakes.

Purchased a Dragon cake for my favourite wife's birthday on the 3 July, 2023. She was impressed as was I and all lucky enough to sample it. The best cake I've tasted in a long time.

No sitting in.. so it was cold... but the cake was DEVINE and they served immediately!! The price was a shock.. but MAN. I AM COMING BACK! ( my favorite cake is red velvet and this was the best I've had )

I can't believe this cafe/bakery is so close to my place! I need to buy a specific cake, and urgently, and last-minute. I sent an enquiry the night before, and got confirmation shortly after. The girls at the shop were so hospitable, and I can't thank them enough!! Thank you so much!! :))

We have had a few cakes from Sweet Mayhem over the past year and they have all been of exceptional standard. We have had the Dragon cake, red velvet, orange celebration and the lamingtons and they have all been delicious. I am happy to pay a bit more for the cakes as I know they will be great. They take the time upon pick up to go through the serving process to make sure the cake is best when you're ready to eat it.This is our go to for cakes from here on.

Sweet Mayhem is an amazing hidden gem.
The kitchen is alive, with pastry chefs making the most incredible creations.
Great coffee & good service. Highly recommend the bacon & egg Bao buns. I will be returning here on the regular.

I’ve been lucky enough to try different sweets from this shop for years. One of the best cake shops in Sydney. You won’t be disappointed.

I did a google search for the best scones in the Sutherland shire and this was a top hit, and let me tell you they did not disappoint! Friendly service right from entry, giant delicious coffees, and the scones are phenomenal! Can’t wait to go back, I highly recommend!
