Barrel Bar and Dining

Another wonderful dinner. Great dishes, very efficient and pleasant service. Looking forward to my next good time at Barrel. Focaccia; calamari. arancini, cauliflower and sticky date pudding.

Barrel Bar is putting out incredible lockdown meal packs! We have finally started trying them, and have been so impressed with the care that goes into the food & careful packaging.
We enjoyed their latest wine tasting SO much and were blown away with how well thought-out the little bottles & tasting notes page were. And the cheese matching was awesome too! This must've taken a HUGE amount of planning and it made it really fun.
Loving their meal offerings that change every week, and the flexibility- just ring up and they can do vegetarian options or change the package to suit what you want.
Oh- the mulled wine! Fabulous.

5 course degustation was highlighted by the lamb. The service was friendly and efficient. The serviettes were extra thick. The parfait peanut was deconstructed. A great selection of wines interestingly labelled in the menu.

And after your food you can wander along to a weird shop that sells everything Egyptian including almost life size Sphinxs. :)

The excellent dining experience, something different, foods fantastic something for everyone with a vast selection of top-notch wines. Of course, excellent service. Watch out for the desert to die for. Xx Thanks, Tony.

Barrel just recently catered my wife's 40th birthday party. We had around 40 guests. Tony, Alex, and the rest of the Barrel team did an absolutely amazing job. The food was plentiful and delicious. See attached photo of the stunning grazing board as evidence! Everyone commented on how great everything was. We would definitely use Barrel again in the future for event catering. Thanks, Barrel!

Top venue, we sat in the bar dining section and had the home-made gnocchi, arrancini balls and home-made focaccia, complimented by a great Sangiovese :-) Great atmosphere, excellent service and ideal location to Hayden Orpheum.

Thank you to all the team at Barrel Bar! We held a lunch for 22 for a hens party on Saturday and not only was the venue absolutely perfect the food was delicious! Right from the booking process to the actual event nothing was too much to ask! We had roaming appetizers and a sit down main. The waitress that took care of us was exceptional! I highly recommend The barrel bar for small events! You wont be disappointed! Best service I have had in a long time!

Beautiful place, great happy hour deals, cool vibe! And hey, if just warming up before attending a special event next door at the Hayden Orpheum, you might bump into the special guests also chilling out before the event, like I bumped into Greg Sestero just before attending the Australian Advance Screening get of "The Disaster Artist", in which Greg had just landed from USA for audience's Q&A! just cool stuff after cool stuff!

Best fine dining I've tried so far (I've tried quite a fair few). All are share plates, so must dining in pair.

We had a great dinner out with friends in the seated section. Not to busy or noisy and really pretty. The food was interesting and delicious, good options for the vegetarians, the waiter knew her wines and what to recommend and she even checked in to see if we needed to be out at a certain time for the movies next door. It was such a happy, comfortable experience...I highly recommend it.

I’m a fan of how hearty Barrel Bar is, both the food and the people. We were part of the Orpheum crowd with a live show starting at 8pm. The waitress was amazing in the way she made sure our dishes came out well in advance of ‘door opening time’. I saw her multitasking up a storm! And somehow she had time to be personable as well. Great show Barrel Bar!

Had the most wonderful dinner at Barrel Bar and dining recently.

It was an opportunity for me to get all my family together during difficult times.

The atmosphere was excellent. The food was delicious and beautifully present. The staff was friendly and attentive and really looked after my elderly Mum which I really appreciated. Their knowledge of wine is way superior to many places I have been. I would recommend Barrel Bar and Dining for any occasion.

This place is a great find. It's perfect for a dinner before going to see a movie at the Hayden Orpheum. The bar area also looked nice for after work drinks. The staff were attentive, food was delivered quickly and the food was fantastic. We ordered a range of entree share plates and each of the dishes was delicious. I'll definitely return.

I met up with some friends we haven't seen for ages. We had the Thursday night banquet special which was very good value, with plenty of food, leaving plenty of money to spend on the excellent wine list.
The staffmember who looked after us was incredibly friendly and helpful.
This all contributed to a night full of lively and interesting conversation.

I have been going to Barrel Bar and Dining since it first opened, I do not usually write reviews. however!!!!! The food, to put it simply is amazing. Fresh produce which is easy to tell with each bite of each dish.
It is about time I give credit where credit due.
This place has an amazing aura and atmosphere, if you want to come for a quick drink with some mates, the wine selection is incredible, and the beers are ice cold.
A dish I must recommend is the crispy cauliflower with tomato coulis and fresh grapes. it is an unusual but highly delightful mix of ingredients which blend in so well. The balance between sweet, sour, sweet, sticky and the right level of salty bite are well worthwhile.

I tend to become very greedy with the lamb shoulder. whilst a generous serve, I still don't like to share. it is simply too good to leave on the table.

I did not know what to expect with the Miso eggplant. but seriously!!! wow. I could eat a lot more of that. preferably trying to take some home. watching my brothers and I fight over the food would have been interesting to witness from the sideline.

The oysters are as fresh as you can get in Sydney, the issue is they can't shuck them fast enough to keep up with us eating. absolutely stunning.

Also a lovely spot for a date night, if you wanted to leave the kids at home or with a babysitter, or to impress a new date. Definitely need to visit.

I feel the owners put in a lot of effort to make everyone feel very valued. I noticed this by the amount of people who knew the owners on a first name basis. I know I felt like royalty when the decanter came out with my bottle of red.

In closing, if you have not been, you are missing out. I will be back as soon as I can. do not to forget to book, the restaurant is extremely popular.

Great place, fantastic food and wine, a real hidden gem !

Really great place to have a nice meal and wine. Great selection of food on the menu, with great recommendations for matching wines from the super friendly staff. Gives you the best of both worlds, you can either sit at the bar, for a casual feeling while still getting a delightful experience, or sit in the dinning area, where it’s quite intimate. A real good local spot I would highly recommend for any given occasion, or no occasion at all.

We had our engagement party held at Barrel Bar and Dining. The whole process from initial enquiry through to the event itself were seamless and so professional. Everything was very easy to organize and they were very flexible with our requests when it came to the menu and drinks.
The service on the night was impeccable, all of our guests commented on how great the service, food and atmosphere of the space was. I would definitely recommend having your event here.
I am yet to try for dinner yet but definitely will be coming as I know the food is delicious :) Thank you Tony, Alex and the team! Cannot fault a thing! Danielle & Tom
