Bankstown Library and Knowledge Centre

In order to get the most accurate and most informative Google reviews I'm one of the few Google reviews that judge's my reviews on the following 6 points.

0. Parking; due to construction and limited parking - Get in early, parking is at a premium and to avoid parking disappointment.

1. Service; I found the administration staff at the Bankstown library and knowledge centre within the library to be very friendly helpful and able to help me and any way possible additionally if you need a justice of the peace there is usually a Justice of the Peace in the library on Tuesday's between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. once a week. The cost of membership is free however if you need to renew your card it would set you back a hefty $4 (lols😉).
2. Coffee and drinks; there is a cafe directly next to the library. Also within the library there are water taps available on two levels for anyone wanting to replenish their water bottles for free. Inside the library they have a strict no drinking coffee or eating food policy.
3. Food; there is a cafe outside the library. No coffee and food allowed for consumption within the library.
4. Vibe; as you walk into the large entrance area you are given the feeling of expensive spacious warm and welcoming there are heaps of comfy cheese spread out over the three different levels and everyone is respectful of being quiet while studying. At the entrance you are greeted by loads of computers lots of friendly staff who are there to help you get you signed up as a member or find your book/s of choice😉.
5. Cleanliness; I liked the cleanliness of the entire library - the floors, restrooms the desk space and the rest areas were all clean and looks like they are well maintained. The overall feeling of this library is spic and span and sparkling I went in around 10 a.m. to 12 in the morning.
6. Point of difference; the library is aptly named. The genre of books I needed were in plentiful supply and written by a range of industry experts both from Australia or from around the world. Due to the fact that I'm studying at university I really needed specific and relevant research material for my certain assignments... I found that this library delivers in abundance and if they didn't have the book i needed - no problems! there are at least 3 other libraries in the area which could help me. There are loads of spaces suitable for babies to seniors to high school students to school age primary children all ages are catered for in this large and spacious library. There is also a technical centre which has around 24 computers for anyone to use to do research or just browse the internet for free👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿.
I'm also a member of two other libraries out of the area and of all the three libraries I am a member of the Bankstown library and knowledge centre scores a well deserved 6 out of 5✔✔✔✔✔✔ for all of the above points. I will definitely use Bankstown library & Knowledge Centre as my preferred library to study, find reference books, for my son for school, university or any research I undertake in the future. Congratulations Bankstown community you should be proud of this facility it is world class! I will be back for sure😁.

Peaceful, modern and unique space!

Great orientation to the services provided here, by friendly & cooperative staff, Marline. I noticed the no-coffee policy. Understandable. Imagine the cups left behind like those you see in trains. The atmosphere is welcoming! ✅ Aaand if you are looking to improve your English language (free classes no attendance obligation), there are classes on Wednesdays & Thursdays. The level/s taught is Elementary to Pre-intermediate - rely heavily on communication approach & lots of drill. The software used is called English Have a Go. Thank you heaps!

Mind blowing , fast and efficient services and great environment.

Beautifully designed library. The arches are gorgeous, and the vertical garden wall brings such energy to the space. Nice selection of books, and the librarian was helpful to me when I had trouble checking out my items. It's also very easy to return after hours, and you can get a receipt printed if you do so.

Library services are pretty good,especially the jp's. I like the way they assisted me.thank you! a good example of public service.

This is the treasure knowledge island. I love it. Everyone is so much cooperative.

Loved this place really big and quiet for doing homework

The staff are very approachable , welcoming and helpful. Their resources are vast and plentiful. The only drawback is that their check out computers lag so much, but they are getting new computers soon (which is a relief and a time saver).

The best library that I have known so far in Sydney! It has a great selection of books. Very spacious and kid-friendly environment. You can place a reservation on a book you like and come to pick up it when it is ready.

I've been a member since 2009. I'm old enough to remember the old building! Every time I come here I find great books to read or DVDs to watch from their expansive catalogue. Staff are friendly and easygoing.

Clean, modern and big space to study or read. The cafe downstairs is also great space for coffee and snack. Most important it's bright place, facing a park making it excellent atmosphere.

The library is spacious and has books and resources full of exotic and subject knowledge. I love the inclusion of various cultural celebration of bankstown diverse community.

Great librairy, with cool books and a good service. I went there to print something and the staff was really helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely a 5 stars 🌟

Probably it's the best library in the South West. Very spacious, very friendly staff, great activities for kids before school such as playgroups, big computer lab, multi-levelled study/quite area.

I can't complain at all, staff very friendly by phone as well as in person, they do their best to have the place suitable for visits with this pandemia, they keep everything working and that's amazing. Thanks to the wonderful staff.

Bankstown library is a great place especially when you go upstairs you got the Bankstown Paul Keating Park View. Librarian are very helpful and understanding sometimes they get overwhelmed but they still get the job done I like it a lot and much better then the others they also have programs to help the humidity which is very very good
