La Baracca Espresso Bar & Trattoria

Currently located at my favourite place to eat in Lismore for decades now. The old Rous Hotel.

Because I haven't had lunch at the establishment since the last major flood, I coaxed Mum into having lunch there yesterday. It was a good choice.

I found the service to be very friendly and smooth, the atmosphere was open and inviting, and my Prawn Pasta was clearly made by a chef who knows their way around the kitchen. Beautifully cooked with lots of flavour. Mum also said her coffee was really nice, learning afterwards, that our meal was made by the high standard set by La Baracca staff, I personally am not suprised.

One minor drawback I noticed was that the menu repertoire for lunch felt a little limited for options other than burgers. I am looking forward to seeing how La Baracca develops in future. Mum and I will be back.

A recommendation from another restaurant, that surely says something about the quality of the food. Dining inside and out. Good beer and cocktail range. The special pasta of the day was superb, a combination of seafood and salami. Staff super friendly and attentive. Busy coffee machine working overtime as well. A great spot to sit and relax for lunch or grab a bite to go.

Went there for a staff end of year dinner. Was a great meal, great drinks on tap, staff are very attentive. Ample space to walk and talk. Overall great experience in their new setting in the old rous hotel.

Fantastic place, up out of the mayhem of traffic. Indoor & outdoor dining. Lovely atmosphere. We had the snapper with veg from the specials list and it was very special, cooked to perfection and so fresh. We loved it. I had a really good coffee. Staff super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend 😃

Gorgeous breakfast menu. I had the French toast but it was a croissant with berries. It was absolutely mouth watering. I’ll be coming back again and again for it.
There is also great vibes at this cafe, I love it.

Still great service sadly from the measured distance, seating available while we waiting, a chair in each corner , just like being back at school been separated in the naughty corner but laughter still shared

Wonderfully reappointed after re-opening following our little issue with a few extra drops of moisture earlier in the year. Great coffee, wonderful food in a great location. Worth anyone's time...

(update 2 November) However, went to revisit (Google and the door of the restaurant showed open till 5pm (Wednesday)) and we were turned away at 2.30pm. When one looks at the opening times in Google search, there has been some updating, but the times are not consistent. A big disappointment

Amazing food and great atmosphere as always. Perfect restaurant for a special night out. The Gnocchi is amazing!

Excellent place to have breakfast. Would highly recommend. The bacon is the best around.

Just had a lovely lunch at La Barraca. Food was delicious, really good service from everyone and the ambience was great.

Some of the best food I've had. The breakfast menu is fantastic and all the different meals I've had have been exceptional. The prices match what you get and it's worth every cent!!. Staff are friendly and attentive even when it's busy. Highly recommend!!!

The staff here are amazing. I've always enjoyed great service. The coffee selections are the best in town. The food is masterfully prepared and always delicious. Great breakfasts, awesome lunches and romantic dinners. Even just a slice of lemon meringue pie and a cup of tea will illicit a satisfying sigh of delight. You've got to treat yourself to a treat at La Baracca.

The old hotel is done up very well. Great atmosphere and good staff.

My fiancé and I had an INCREDIBLE brunch here. The meals we ordered. (one of each special of the day) we so amazingly unique, nothing like any breakfast we'd had before. So many awesome flavours combined perfectly to make the perfect breaky. The staff were also beyond friendly and we loved every interaction we had with each of them! Magical atmosphere and a beautiful setting. Can't wait to visit again!
