We had Thattukada chicken fry, beef curry (forgot the actual name, sorry!), with rice and Porotta. I had a mango lassi, and my husband had lime juice. Despite a few bad reviews, the food was awesome! The service was great too, really attentive. We felt looked after well. Since we're not too familiar with Kerala cuisine, the staff helped us out with the menu. We will definitely come back again.

One of the best place to dine in . First ever Indian restaurant in Australia enjoyed spicy food with better taste. Love it. All the items are superb and tasteful. Truly recommend the place.

Ohh!! I was wanting and waiting to have authentic Kerala food. Heard through my friend, was waiting to come and have while visiting Sydney. The food was very much authentic and tasty. The Beef ularthiyathu, kakka fry, kallumakkaya fry, fish polichathu, kizhi porrotta (both beef and chicken), chemmeen roast and appam, were out of the world. Words can't describe the actual taste of these dishes. A must visit for anyone who loves and are missing Kerala food.

The service was also really good and the food was served fast and hot.

Best Chilli Beef in Sydney. I didn't realise they had thenna kallu (coconut toddy). Never thought we could have kallu (Toddy) in Sydney. Loved the food so much. It was so authentic and very tasty. Best kerala cuisine. A must visit place to enjoy kerala food.

Good food, based on Kerala recipes...made to Australian customers. Good to go for all who like with the spice concentration. First vist, enjoyed fish and beef cooked to Kerala style along with the Kerala "red" rice, but still to explore customised spice level options.

We had their Kizhi Parotta Beef and Fish Polichathu and it was AMAZINGGGGG! This is the real deal. For an authentic Kerala taste, this is the place to go to.
We also got their Chicken Biryani and Thattu Kada Chicken Fry as takeaway.

Loved the food especially the specials. Authentic Kerala taste. Tried the Panni ularthiyath, Kerala fish curry and porotta. Very happy with the quality, quantity and the spice levels. Definitely a must visit when you miss home.

This one of the authentic Kerala food restaurant in Sydney, with wide range of meat and fish dishes. Few special items are wild Buffalo meat, deer, rabbit etc. They have well trained staff members who shows you what's real hospitality means. Also the chef's are happy to alter the dishes as per your requirement. (Spicy/mild). Plus you can also find chilled beers and other beverages..

Great atmosphere. It has always been a pleasure to have food from this place. The food is always consistent and great kerala and other south indian varieties.

Not sure why the review isn’t higher. Food is 👌🏼 and the staff is always friendly. We are vegetarian and they veg fried rice, paneer tikka and gobi Manchurian are 💯!! No photos as we finished our food so fast, so tasty! 🤤

The chef's 17 years of experience in Kerala cooking is reflected in every dish, from the perfectly spiced Fish pollichath to the tasty kizhi porotta. Kayal...the name says it all ! The restaurant feels like a warm home and the service was personal and generous.Highly recommend Kappa , fish curry and beef ularthiyatu. They were the best I've had. Overall a lovely dining experience and we would definitely go back.

People of Sydney ain't spoiled with options when it comes to Kerala restaurants. Kayal is undoubtedly the best if you are looking for authentic kerala dishes. Its located isolated in the street and its hard to find as its kind of hidden in plain sight. But sure you can find it as there are no other businesses around in this area. For me its a good drive of 40 minutes.. but totally worth it! They have a whatsapp group where they announce heavy discounts and offers exclusive to the group members - so do join by sending whatsapp message to their advertised mobile number.

My wife and I always visit Kayal when we pass through Sydney. The food is excellent especially the Kerala porotta and nadan chicken curry. It is a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Staff are very friendly. This time we were served by the wonderful Jojo. His menu suggestions and mango lassi were excellent.
