Great, basic, 3 star motel - comfortable beds, hot water, basic amenities such as tea and coffee, very well maintained and clean despite the age, a little bit of noise-bleed from the road and adjacent rooms.

Good old fashioned service! Rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. Will stay again when in Gympie.

I stayed several weeks at the Shady Rest while on a business engagement. Barbara is the loveliest of hosts, always with a smile and nothing ever a bother.
I would recommend staying here if passing through or for an extended stay as i did. Rooms were clean and fresh with housekeeping done daily. In short a great place to stay and i will definitely consider staying here again if the situation called for it.

We were rescued so kindly by the Shady Rest, as our original accom had cancelled our booking.

We enjoyed our stay at Shady Rest Motel. Friendly/helpful receptionist, rooms nicely refurbished, good having a table to sit at to eat, Q/bed was a bit hard. We were in a room furtherest from the hwy, so had no noise. The water in the shower was either very hot or cold, not sure if that was due to being at the end . Location was great, close to the hwy, but not on the hwy.

Very clean, comfortable and convenient. The staff are good, friendly and helpful as is the manager Barbara. If we travel through Gympie in the future Shady Rest is where we will stay. Very pleasant experience.

Thank goodness the horrible lady at Mary River Motel told us to stay at the Shady Rest Motel, the lovely kind lady at the Shady Rest was so helpful, looked after us with parking our high Ute too. Everything was beautiful and clean - would definitely stay again. 10/10

We were only passing through but ended up staying a week at Shady Rest Motel. It was quite and peaceful. The bed was very comfortable. Barbara and her staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended and we will stay again

Lovely motel in central location. Owners were both extremely polite and helpful. Room was clean and tidy. Convenient parking right out front of room with partial cover. Would definitely stay again.

Simple, clean, comfortable rooms with table and chairs inside and outside, generous and tasty breakfast. Access directly to highway yet quiet. Great pool, a hit with the kids - super friendly and helpful people, reasonable rates for rooms and breakfasts - what more could you ask for, stay night or a week....thankyou

Will definately stay again. Arrived 9pm & lovely lady waited for us so we could book a room. Very clean & comfortable. I would recommend this motel to all tired travellers, very quiet on the North side of Gympie.

A nice, cosy, simple motel with all the basic facilities including AC. Barbara was so wonderful to us going out of her way to help, cooking our rice and even calling back to check on an item we had left behind. She is an example on how to provide a welcoming and wonderful service to the customers. We spent two night visiting Noosa and the launching pad for our Fraser Island adventure. Thank you so much

The Shady Rest Motel is a comfortable, spotlessly clean country motel with a lovely owner/manager, Barbara. The staff are very helpful and are happy to help with any requests. I highly recommend this well established Gympie motel.

Basic accommodation but clean and tidy

Lovely owners, very nice and accomadating. Went out of their way to help my partner and I when our car broke down. Very comfortable stay, nice shower space and a very comfortable bed. Thanks :)
