Great Eastern Motor Inn

Had 3 nights here in late Feb. Older-style motel but room clean and comfortable, very smart bathroom had been refurbished. Very friendly and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend the restaurant, superb meals at good prices, very competent chef. Updated Wifi installation too. Handy for the Mary Valley Rattler train.

Got room service the best 400g rump had in 10 years the whole meal was amazing.The bed was great had an amazing sleep.my whole experience was ten out of ten. lol still thinking about the steak

Nice and tidy place to stop, we stopped over night over the weekend, the food from the restaurant was awesome, service from Michele at reception was second to none, best experience we have ever had at a motel when travelling, we stayed in a pet friendly room with our large dog and had plenty of room

Work stop over whilst travelling north great little place to stay meals were lovely hosts were accommodating to all our needs

This is my regular stop any time I have to do the Rocky to Brisbane and back run. They have no problems with my doggo having pet friendly rooms, are always friendly and courteous, the rooms clean and comfortable, and in the perfect location for any one running up and down the Bruce for any reason. Brilliant little stop. Fantastic little restaurant with a great chef that understands exactly how to make food taste great. It was also very fresh! 5 stars for sure.

Very comfortable and spacious room well equipped for our 2 nights stay.
Great to have a large bathroom and large hand basin. It was so good to finally have hand towels, face washers and a hair dryer, items which were not included in many of our other accommodation places during our 2 month road trip!!
It was also great to have a toaster and microwave, again items often not included in many other motels.
Excellent lighting, plenty of power points in convenient positions and ALL bathroom toiletries supplied, including shaving cream!!
Only one small complaint, 2 light globes were out which we reported but were not fixed during our stay.
Overall, great accommodation which we'd highly recommend and would certainly return!

I had a 400g rump, medium rare, it was absolutely perfect! As good as if not better than the Phoenix hotel I had last night. Great Eastern Highly recommended

Due to the website booking the incorrect room at Expedia we were unable to stay but the service was exceptional from Lisa and Anne they both tried there best to accomadate us but were unable to due to safety of the number of people. They gave us a full refund very happy with Lisa and the professionalism that followed. Was a shame we didn't stay looked lovely. Thank you again Lisa and the team.

Helen & Cam we’re so friendly! Our meals were amazing! The BEST rump steak - my husband is still raving about it..my pizza (forever called Pinky’s Pizza) was hands down the best I have ever eaten. Would have loved to try the Pork, but lack of apple sauce (sorry to dob you in Helen), but we will be back. We have been staying at this motel since 1988 & never disappoints 👍

It was a cute comfy room! Modern bathroom, with an older but very nice bedroom, service was quick and easy and checkout was even easier. James booked us in quick smart and when I arrived I was going too my room in 2 mins. My partner and I are very happy quests, only 1 fault! The wifi I couldn't connect, but I guess it was quality time instead 😊

Very friendly service, very clean rooms with an awesome restaurant. One of the best steaks and garlic breads we have had in a long time.
Had a great chat with the owners and they have only taken over 12 weeks ago but they have it all under control. Will definitely come back!

My friends and I were treated royally by Lisa and Steven during our stay. We arrived by train and Lisa picked us up from the station and Steven made sure we had freshly cooked pizza on arrival at 8pm. We were travelling on the Gympie Rattler the next day and once again Lisa dropped us off and picked us up - even gave us a tour of Gympie on the way home - and made sure we had a hot meal that night. Drove us to the museum the next day and onto the railway station afterwards for our trip home. Lovely clean units and great food and hospitality like we have never experienced before! Thanks so much for your kindness everyone - so appreciated!

Geordie restaurant at the hotel is a favourite spot for us (family of 4 2 u12). This is a cozy little family friendly restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining. Chess board and checkers for fun while waiting with the kids. The menu is largely Italian featuring its tasty home made pizzas. The pasta is fresh cooked and well made. It's all about that tomahawk steak for me. An inch thick steak on the bone cooked perfect medium rare and served on a sizzling plate. Special shout out to the server. She's professional and attentive without being intrusive. Exceptional service and food.

Arrived late on our way through to Brisbane, the lovely lady in reception was great, gave us a great room and let me order meals right as the kitchen was about to close and the Roast Pork was amazing. Thank you

This was a very nice motel in Gympie, family run establishment. We ate here and the food was generously portioned, the gravy was to die for along with the fresh corn and BBQd zucchini (YUM) and the lamb cutlets were tasty although I didn't expect them to be crumbed and would say they don't need to be- they would be tasty on their own with a bit of dry rub. The wine wasn't a hit for me - tasted a bit old and I have a thing about red wine in small glasses. Otherwise, the food was was really good, the staff are friendly and the rooms are nice, clean and spacious. Would highly recommend!

Great hospitality, fantastic meals, spotlessly clean comfortable rooms, at a very reasonable price...we were a group of 30 on a golfing long weekend. If you are staying in Gympie...look no further! We will definitely stay again, thanks Michael and Teri.

Stayed for an overnight stopover and this place is everything you can hope for in a one night stay. We stayed in the back 1 double bed 1 single bed rooms and it was super clean, bed and bedding was super comfortable, the shower had great water pressure, it was really quiet despite having a pub on site and close to the highway, really couldn't fault the place and Derek, the manager is really friendly and helpful as we we're mucked around by a 3rd party booking agent. We stop over in Gympie a lot and have tried many other hotels in the area and this will now be our go to. Highly recommended.

Great hotel on the southern side of Gympie. Very friendly and helpful managers. We have stayed here a few times because of the handy location when traveling south, clean facilities and good price. The bathrooms have recently been renovated and are quite spacious, and the location is fairly quiet with good amenities.
