Australia Post - Gymea LPO

Never had any issues with this PO. One of only a few in the area that’s easily accessible and open on a Saturday, great full for those of us that work 9-5 and can’t go during the week. The people there have always been lovely and helpful. My assumption is it’s just a husband/wife team, they clearly work long and hard, which must be stressful so perhaps that’s what comes across sometimes. But they always seem to do their best. Yes they get busy, especially on Saturdays but that’s to be expected. But I appreciate what they do!
Sad to see today the abuse one lady, the only one working today due to sickness, had to cop because of some rude and entitled customers who couldn’t time manage themselves better, or shut up and have abit of grace and empathy. Kindness, patience and understanding go a long way. I’ve always given them that and have received it in return.

The best post office I have ever dealt with. Always busy and staff are so efficient and on the ball. Passports done on the spot. Advice and parcels quick and accurate always. Staff are run off their feet but so pleasant, professional and super efficient. Thank you!

I frequent this post office several times a week. It is an incredibly busy post office as it services a large, populace dense area. I find this is extrapolated by the fact that Australia Post drivers often just drop a parcel card in your letter box and deliver your items direct to the post office (but this happens everywhere). This being said, I have never had to wait more than 10minutes to be served during a peak period.

In regards to previous reviews -

I find people often lack patience and on several occasions have seen (and spoken up about) the abuse our LPO staff encounter despite customers attending just before work or just after school finish (which are often the busiest periods).

I personally can not speak more highly of Jay and his staff. They work incredibly hard every day and in my experience they are polite, friendly and go above and beyond to help. The office is almost always fully staffed with both counters running during business hours.

Having lived throughout Sydney and frequented many of the Sutherland Shires Post Offices, I would say Gymea LPO is one of the best 'The Shire' has to offer.

I would highly recommend Gymea LPO now and in the future.

Owner is very nice and helpful. You can also get cash from there because the Commonwealth Bank ATM up the street closed. Sometimes the queue is out the door but overall good post office.

Great staff Never had a problem here.
Always helped me with any problems over the years.
Sometimes have to wait thats just life as am not impatient person either.

Great fast friendly service

Been going to the post office for years. Staff have been fine. They are very busy and perhaps there have been times where the owner has been a little short once with me and I noticed with other customers. Australia Post not delivering parcels to my home when husband and I are both working from home does not help an already busy post office. Overall I can't complain about the service.

I am unsure why everyone keeps saying they are rude. We have been coming in to post stuff or pick up parcels and never had an issue. The staff usually apologises for the wait (they tend to get pretty busy in there) but they are doing their best. Tbh for a post office the service is pretty good.

This is a busy local Post Office If Australia Post would actually deliver parcels to the home address instead of pretending to, and sending us all round to Gymea PO with our little cards, the queues would not be so long. I find the staff very efficient and have never encountered rudeness.
