Did a walk in today hoping to get a haircut at short notice. I was asked to return in 30 minutes. It was the 1st proper trading day after the Xmas / New Year break. On return to the shop after 30 minutes I was met by a young student called Nick, he shook my hand during the introduction and asked how I'd like to have my hair cut.

I noticed about 6 youngish kids being inducted by a trainer in the shop and it was then I realised the barber's shop was also a training establishment & the guy cutting my hair was a trainee.

My haircut was undertaken in a methodical manner and I was asked frequently if I was happy with the length etc. I was comfortable during the time I was having my haircut and I think he did an excellent job. It was easy to see he was still learning to improve his skills in his new trade but Nick will be a great barber once his confidence increases.

It's encouraging to see kids given training opportunities and I'd encourage Tamworth locals to utilise this shop and assist the local training network. A bonus for patrons is a very competitive price.

Only negative is I live 330k'away which is a long way to go for a hair cut.
