Wild Byron

This was my second trip with Wild Byron and it did not disappoint. I went with my brother and parents, and we all had a spectacular time on the tour. We saw dozens of whales displaying different behaviours, and got lots of useful information about the conservation of the species from Glenn who was our tour guide and skipper. I would highly recommend this trip and I’m sure I’ll be back again in the future!

Glen is an unbelievable tour guide. I’ve done this whale watching experience two times and have loved both of them. We saw whales on both occasions and had beautiful weather. The afternoon tour is lovely because you get to experience the sunset on the way in as well! 100% recommend if you’re looking to go whale watching in Byron Bay…especially if you enjoy taking photos!

The team at Wild Byron were awesome! Very knowledgeable and passionate but also super chilled they made our experience unforgettable. Would definitely recommend these guys to anyone looking to snorkel Julian Rocks!

Wild Byron provided an amazing and educational whale tour.The small comfy boat provides ringside seating so everyone gets fantastic views and close action. Glenn the skipper shared his experience and knowledge and we learned behaviours , heard their whale songs and we saw a newborn whale calf and mum- a highlight! Best scenery with Byron as a backdrop, don’t miss this experience of a lifetime!! Let the skipper take the photos and be in the moment.

Fantastic morning out at Nguthungulli/Julian Rocks! Glenn & team are great and super fun to be around. The amount of life at the site is mind-boggling. Can't recommend highly enough! You have to go!

This was one of the coolest experiences of my life! It was a slightly rainy day, but no matter, we still were taken out over the waves and straight to some whales! We got to see so much whale action, it was amazing. And to be able to get so close to them, and for so long, was a real treat! The fun facts shared by the guides were also a great addition. Highly recommend.

Unforgettable Snorkel Adventure

I recently had the pleasure of snorkelling with Wild Byron and can’t rave enough about the experience.
Skipper Glenn and snorkel guide Shanaye provided a memorable experience with an array of beautiful marine life not to be forgotten! Their close connection to research groups makes this experience even more endearing. I would suggest the trip to anyone interested in Marine life and the conservation of the beautiful underwater world that Wild Byron takes you to!

Had an awesome time doing the rain forest tour lead by Montana!
The Minyon falls are stunning, and even with the cloud and rain cover we had, it was beautiful (just added a mystical touch to the tour).
Also, depending on your preferences there were a few different walks available, so they’re very accommodating to what you feel comfortable with.
Would definitely recommend if you’d like a guided tour - fun conversations, cool information tidbits, and beautiful views - I had a blast.

Such an amazing memories with Laura and Glenn. It was once in a lifetime experience, highly recommended go whale watching with Wild Byron and you will definitely be surprised by their friendly and professional staffs. We have seen wild whales jumping under sunset, showed up close to the boat during the tour, how lucky were we!! I will come back in future for sure! Thank you so much.

Sorry for the delayed review. Visiting Australia from Canada. We had the opportunity to snorkel at Julian Rock with Wild Byron on Dec. 6, 2023. Fantastic experience! Saw a Brydes whale on the way as well as pods of dolphins. Lots of underwater sea life! Wetsuits and thorough instructions provided. They were also very accommodating to inexperienced or nervous individuals. Perfectly safe experience and we would highly recommend this company if you want a highlight to any vacation.

The best whale watching tour ever. We have been 4 times and it never disappoints. Glen is fantastic. See you next year.

The best morning at Nguthungulli (Julian Rocks)! Saw so much more marine life than I had anticipated. The crew were really kind, helpful and knowledgeable (thank you!!). Heaps of time in the water, great value... highly recommend!

Glenn made sure everyone had a great time during the entire time. He was very informative and funny. The boat is compact but comfortable. The group size being small meant everyone got good views always. While it is impossible to guarantee the same experience, we had a very good intimate encounter with a couple of very inquisitive whales that kept coming back to the boat and swimming under. The first encounter was within minutes of departure and Glen certainly knew where to take us to maximize our chances of a whale encounter.

This was such a fantastic experience. Glen was welcoming and friendly, and full of expert knowledge about Humpback Whales. We felt 100% safe and sound on the boat, even in pretty decent swell. We saw so many whales, and were treated to calves breaching so close to us. A beautiful bonus was having a hot cup of tea and a home made cookie, while listening to live whale song. That was a very special moment, to hear so clearly their underwater tunes. I would 100% recommend this experience to anyone, tourist or local.

We had a wonderful experience. We felt that we chose a very professional company, we sailed on a new and very comfortable vessel, our captain was professional, knew how to tell us about the way of life of the whales and gave us more interesting details. We saw a spectacular show of several whales. We would wholeheartedly recommend them

My fourth trip out with Wild Byron - highly recommend them. Glenn is a well experienced skipper and has a whole heap of information to share about these beautiful sea mammals we sea on each trip out! The fact that he has a great sense of humour is just an added bonus.

Wow what a morning!! This was just the best. We all loved it and saw so many whales and boy did they give us a show. Glen was great - very informative, easy going, and great cookies too. Will definitely do this again.
