Il Buco Cafe & Pizzeria

If the name of the pizza has the same name as the name of the place, it must be a signature dish or at least something good. The Il Buco Calzone was for me the reason to give it a shot. The pizza was not completely closed, but open on top with rucola inside and prosciutto around it. From the moment of ordering to table was 15 minutes, so quickly! The pizza was delicious and more than enough for one person. I got some free water with the meal too. I was in for a dessert, but since the staff was not really asking for something additional (drinks, desert, etc.) I lost internet and left. I guess they can be a bit more proactive at that.

Great pizza. If you are on the hunt for a yummy pizza meal when in Byron Bay, give Il Buco a try. I don't think you will be disappointed. We sat outside, which was lovely given the warm weather.

The pizza itself is fantastic, but the real star is their homemade tiramisu crafted with love by their nonna. Let me tell you, it's the best tiramisu you'll ever taste in your life. The authentic flavors will transport you straight to Italy.

Nestled in Byron bay Il Bucco offers an enchanting ambiance with rustic charm and a great service. With an Italian team behind the scenes they create authentic Italian pizza with considered toppings. The crispy crust was so good and base was amazing, the Tiramisu provided a perfect sweet finish. The staff's attentive and knowledgeable service adds to the experience, making this pizza place a must-visit for anyone craving an authentic taste of Italy in a cozy setting.

When rainy, there are only 5 tables inside.

Hubby and I had a wonderful meal for dinner at II Buco Cafe and Lizzeria tonight. The service was amazing. The flavours and portions were wonderful! Will be sure to visit again when we are next in town. Thank you so much ☺

Great pizza and delicious rocket salad. Dining is mostly outdoors and has a good vibe. Excellent service. It’s BYO but there’s a bottle shop almost next door.

Best pizza shop we've found outside of Italy. No fine dining, no frills, just super authentic food with the freshest local ingredients.

Don't even think about going here, do yourself a favour and just go!
It may only be a little place and you may struggle to get a table but the food and service is well worth it.
Once you sit down and look at the menu you'll struggle to decide what to have.
Even though they were very busy our pizza came out very quickly and was cooked to perfection with no sign of a soggy base.
All staff were happy and friendly making you feel very welcome.
We were very glad we chose to eat there.

Best food in Byron Bay. Love the Burrata "Special" and authentic pizza. Caprese salad is divine with Coopers Shoot tomatoes. Tiny hole in wall place, but great atmosphere.

We came by 9pm on a Friday and they were able to find us a table.
They told us 10min and it was spot on - piping fresh from the oven.

This place has a couple of great vegan options. Beautiful, authentic Italian pizza and the bruschetta (which is also vegan) was INCREDIBLE. Definitely recommend!

I love my pizza .. had pizza in lots of places but by far this is the best pizza I have ever eaten hands down .. amazing

Tiny, but exquisite. As soon as we walked in the door the smell of the pizza hit us in the face and there was no way we were eating anywhere else. The two calzones we had were delicious. We thought about having a sit down meal but it was a lovely night so we got some takeaway instead. They told us that takeaway would take a little bit longer as a result but we were fine with that as they told us up front instead of making us wait and hot damn the food was worth the wait.

Edit - Came back for more at the end of summer and it is still amazing. Dine in with two pizzas to share. The service was great and the pizzas were delicious. We'll try to come back here every time we come to Byron.
