Goulburn Wetlands

A protected Wetlands meaning any of the animals that frequent this vast acreage are not to be tampered with and respected, just a suggestion . I also met some residence of Goulburn , bird watchers- photographers eagerly gave me information about redbreasted Robins. I did glimpse tiny wrens in the dense tree's of the Candle Banksia's a good amount of birds. They had a protected space . Its an easy flat walk around the dam with lots of written material about the scrub, woodlands, things to look out for Aboriginal named creature's , plants living in the pasture's . Even the canals in a couple of sections . In the woodlands there are Kangaroo's that are cheeky enough to graze on the next door golf course. All in all a natural landscape , sandy walking paths that are wheel chair appropriate, sufficient car parking , shaded seating area's, seated hide sheds with tin corrugated walls for avid photographers , artists and scrabble players . Plenty to see and do . Highly recommend it , at the foot hills of the war memorial hill.

A very pretty half hour walk, plants are well labelled to give you an insight into the vegation of the Southern Highlands.

Perfect place to stop and have a break while passing by Goulburn. Plenty of shady trees, many blinds/hides to observe the wildlife. Grab some chips from the Empire (Best chips in Goulburn)

A nice stroll in a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle.

Excellent place to relax in a fine day

The bird hide looking onto the large lake, is great. I liked the information poster about birdlife found in the area. I saw a black & white striped honeyeater with a yellow-striped tail. No snakes sighted. Heard the frogs. Had a pleasant walk. Many interesting wildflowers and ponds.

Well looked after and much information available. Definitely worth a visit.

Easy walking through a regenerated native bushland area. No unusual birds in April, but still a pleasant walk - quite a large mob of kangaroos in the reserve.

Great place for kids to run around, wide paths, picnic areas, shady spots. Great free activity. Pretty birds, even spotted a bowerbird nest, so cool.

A great quiet place to stop and stretch the legs
We had our lunch while in one of the bird lookouts and saw plenty of birds and tortoises
Watch out for the Grebe and if you're lucky, you might even see a Hory Headed Grebe

What a great place to walk having to find it an easy to do with yourself or with someone else start be careful of the wild life that is there what's around and should be looked after carefully

it's always nice to walk around here and meet a bunch of kangaroos. (don't get too close, they will be scared 🙃)
