I am driving from Sydney to Canberra today and stopped in Goulburn to break up the trip. I stumbled across this cafe and I’m so glad I did!!! The food is sensational, the staff are so friendly and helpful and the cafe has such history and character. If you want tasty, home cooked food and lovely staff then stop here!

Very nice cafe. We stayed overnight nearby motel while coming back from Melbourne. It was just in front of our motel. We had coffee and muffins. It was very delicious.

We were blow away by this stunning venue. Definitely a go to in Goulburn, for (daytime) coffee, a meal or even a drink, you can't beat the atmosphere of this impeccably restored space. We enjoyed brunch on our first visit and the service was good, too. We will be back.

What a gem of a find! We stopped for coffee on our way west for a gathering, & planned our return journey to the coast around stopping at Roses Cafe! The staff are delightful & the menu plentiful. We will make this a regular stop when passing through Goulburn.

Goulburn used to be a town where it was hard to find a decent coffee but every time I visit there is a new cafe or eatery that has made Goulburn not just an inland icon but a foodie destination!

The Roses cafe is set in a beautiful old heritage building that has been lovingly turned into an inviting and comfortable place to relax and enjoy a meal with friends.

Walking into the sizeable dining space with its high ceilings and wooden floor boards gives the feeling of a traditional dance hall.

There service area is at the back of the hall and you order at the counter. Meals are delivered to the table. There is a long display cabinet filled with sweet and savoury delicacies; there is so much to choose from and also board with menus items if you can’t find anything that tickles your fancy in the cabinet.

I was feeling like something light on the day I visited and opted for the granola with fresh fruit and yogurt. It was delicious and I enjoyed every bite!

The coffee was average on the day I visited. Perhaps more the preparation than the actual grind or origin. Too hot and very weak. But I hope this was anomaly and I would give it another go next time I am in town.

Service is friendly and it’s nice to see they have invested in young locals as the bulk of their staff.

One of the best cafes I've ever been to, 10/10 for coffee, cake and service!

This place was a fabulous recommendation by the local Info Centre. Wonderful coffee and orange poppy seed muffin. Then we purchased a slice of the enormous lasagne and Camembert and leek quiche to take away for dinner. Love this place - a wonderful Goulburn haunt. It seems to be a bar as well.

Great place for a relaxing breakfast before heading off on the road for the trip ahead. Ambience, service and food was first rate.

What a great cafe! It is wheelchair accessible with a great ramp to get in! There is an accessible bathroom. They may have a out of order sign on it, but I think that is to keep people that don’t need to use the bathroom out.

This awesome little gem situated in the heart of Goulburn is an essential stop. Set in a developed church, there is a wide variety of savory treats to choose from. Perfect for breakfast or lunch.

What an impressive place this is. It’s set in an old school and it looks impressive inside. We were greeted by a friendly staff member as soon as we walked in and then looked after by a second who seated us. The selection of food was great. As a vegetarian/ pescatarian there was absolutely plenty I could’ve had and I was spoiled for choice.
We had a smoked salmon and Brie frittata and a large mixed salad and apple crumble with fresh cream and excellent coffees. The food was very tasty and the service from each team member we dealt with was so professional, friendly and always with a smile. This comes down to good training. The prices were very fair. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Goulburn and will definitely be back.

It was that bloody good we came back for another breakfast the next morning from sydney to Melbourne via Canberra. Extremely friendly staff, beutiful decor in a refitted charming old building. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Generous servings with great coffee. Toilets immaculate

Cleanliness: 5 stars
This place is the cleanest café/restaurant I have ever been to. Tables are cleaned/wiped after each guest. Toilets are impeccably clean and in great condition.

Staff/crew: 5 stars
If I could add a star, I would. The crew here are always happy and extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much, or too little. There are always enough staff to manage the busy periods and even when it is packed, the waiting is never long. So, when I hear “There aren’t enough staff around” by some café/restaurant owners, well, take a hard look at this place, they always have enough, so it can be done.

Food/coffees: 5 stars
Just look at the selection! And that’s just what is visible in the display. Look up at the boards, and you have even more. Always fresh, always tasty. I have been here so many times, and I have NEVER been disappointed.

Prices: 5 stars
It’s very well priced and I feel I am getting excellent value.

Atmosphere/comfort: 5 stars
When you walk in on a cold winter’s day, you can take your jumper off and enjoy the warmth of the indoors seating. The advantage of a warm restaurant is that your food and coffee doesn’t go cold in 2 minutes. Well done and it is really appreciated. To all other cold/unheated restaurants: It can be done!!

Recently relocated from a more central area in Goulburn, the new location is not as attractive as it doesn’t have a park opposite, but the building is stunning. The inside high ceiling and big windows letting in natural light are beautiful. So still a 5 star for me even if it isn’t as nice outside.

Well, what can I say, other than: "This place deserved extra stars". 5 just aren't enough in my opinion. You can come here time and time again, and never be disappointed. Even on a quiet lunchtime (midweek) they have a lot of people inside eating and enjoying a quiet coffee time with friends. That’s because it is comfortable, clean and, importantly, good food and drinks. I am certain that’s why many people choose Roses Café over any other option available, even if it means extra driving time to get here.

Well done Roses, as far as I am concerned, you are my favourite of all cafes, and that’s why I will always divert from my travels for you.

I love coming to this cafe on my stop overs between Sydney and Canberra. The new location is beautiful with old world charms. We sat enjoying our lunch by the fireplace.

What a delightful discovery when I stopped in Goulburn on a Canberra to sydney drive. The best service with a smile from everyone working there, so welcoming. Delicious food options and plenty of different spaces to enjoy dining in. Such a lovely atmosphere, I can see why it’s popular. Great coffee and well worth a visit! Thanks to the lovely staff.

Lovely cafe, nice atmosphere, simple but tasty food. The staff were lovely! The coffees were great, although they could improve their chai (sticky chai would have been great!)
The french toast was nice, large size portions, but unfortunately the frozen berries were a bit tasteless.
