The Shop in the Bush

Fantastic shop that felt like it was in the middle of nowhere. Antiques old books, jewellery and so much more. Incredibly friendly staff. We loved looking through the store.

Literally in the bush, in the middle of nowhere situates this wonderful shop with warm welcoming owner. She is helpful and has a warmth about her.

This shop will surprise you. I expected some groceries, food and drinks but I was in for a surprise. Books - good second hand ones, rare first (or early) editions, antique books, rare coins, other collectibles, T-shirts, curios, and …. EXPENSIVE JEWELLERY!! A $19,000 bracelet, $6,000 earrings… I was blown away.

A million dollars worth of stock sitting in the middle of nowhere! She could have easily set that up in the town but I think she chose this place deliberately. What a way to stand out from the crowd! And she gets a lot of foot traffic in the store , mainly people travelling to St Helen’s .

I picked up “Bring up the bodies” by Hilary Mantel for $10.

They post your purchases to you if you are travelling and don’t want to carry things around.

Fantastic shop, the lady who worked there was helpful, knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk to. We did say "come to Chatsworth on your travels" and we mean it! You know who we are!
The shop was very well stocked with all kind of weird wonderful and beautiful items. Well worth an extended visit.

This place is amazing! A great place for sourcing collectables, out of print books, and tourist memorabilia.
It is a rustic building with a terrific atmosphere. I dare anyone to have a decent browse and not leave with something worth having.

The cleanest and well presented antique shop I have seen with the most amazing items. Books,jewelry,crystal and much more. Just love it.

I never made it past the war book collection... Fantastic... I think there was other stuff there but was magpied... The wife dragged me away or I'd still be there...

I have ordered online. They were on a holiday until 31st of July. Yet on the 28th I got a call to let me know my item has been posted. And the expected delivery time was between 3-8 of August. Today is the 2nd of August, and I have my item in the Blue Mountains N S W. Amazing! It has been a pleasure, the best service ever! If ever I get to Tasmania I will make sure to visit. Thanks again.

The Four of us Enjoyed our visit to the Shop in the Bush, We all managed to leave with a number of items including the Tasmanian books I picked up.

We were driving to Bicheno and came across this quaint shed that popped up in the middle of nowhere, to our surprise this antique shop was an amazing place and totally unexpected, we ended up buying a couple of things and the owners were so friendly and knowledgeable and it was an unexpected place that we never knew was even there, we do now and will totally be back. 👍😀

A very rare find indeed with this shop. The Shop in the Bush has a large selections of antiques. I first met the owner 5 years ago and is my first stop when visiting Tasmania. Very impressed with the website and the customer service has always been second to none.

Eclectic shop! More a store of memories for us! Very interesting old things to buy, if you have a house just needing that certain something! The lady is very smart and begins to sell you before you even realise it! Allow a good half hour here, and take your wallet!
